Melbi,

Your dentistry degree will work wonders for you. I know there are people that care for you. Many Asperigans have thoughts of suicide because the world does not understadn us. However, you were put here for a purpose. I believe God put me here and made me Asperigan because He wants me to teach others about our condition. That is what drove me to write the book I am writing now, that is what drove me to talk openly about the condition in front of soon-to-be teachers, and psychology seniors in high school.

Think of what you can do when you become a dentist. You can open your own business, help create realtionships that opens the eyes and minds of your patients, be seen as someone who makes a positive contribution to this world instead of a statistic. You can also help us change perceptions of NTs.

Please don't kill yourself. Talk to us on WP. Maybe you don't think that anyone cares but we do.

whats keeping me alive is my family, and my girlfriend, and self-respect. I don't think I could ever do it...unlike my girlfriend who has actually thought of ways she would, but she hasn't done anything yet. :\

My world is keeping me alive. Seeing them every day makes me happy. Drawing them makes me happy.

Melbi, if you leave this world I've got no choice but to go with you. Think about that.

thinking about bf coming today is keeping me alive
thinking about going back home to family in 2 days is keeping me alive

i heard that dad bought me a secret birthday present (my birthday is like one months ago). my parents rarely buy me bday present, so i gotta at least know what it is before i die :p

looking at my puppy with his innocent face...i can't leave him alone in the world!

comparing Melbi now, and Melbi 5 years ago, makes me realise that there is hope, there is always hope, as long as you're alive.

Melbi's gonna become a great dentist
Melbi's gonna grow strong and independent
Melbi's gonna walk out of depression and anxiety

and become a BIG Melbi who is capable of taking care of herself and others

Melbi refuses to compromise
Melbi refuses to be victimised
Melbi refuses to stay in her comfort zone

Melbi is going to walk out of the shell, become a GIANT Melbi; you can defeat her physically, but never spiritually. NEVER!

Awesome, I am glad you are doing better Melbi. And, if you can do it, I can too.

I hardly have anything that's keeping me alive these days.

Sometimes, I keep wondering why I'm still alive.

My mother.

She probably doesn't have too many years left in her.

Not sure what will happen to me when she passes.

It's going to sound a bit odd, but Science -- Physical Anthropology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Biology. It allows me to sequence things, to view things systimatically and to UNDERSTAND rationally the irrational world. I can throw myself so completely into it that I don't have to worry about social issues or attempt to make sense of what is going on with people around me. I can use it as a sort of haven when things become too much...and they do way too often!

This is a doifficult question to answer for, I can't give a simplified response.Basically, what keeps me going is always being reminded of how my older brother managed to get beyond a great amount of crap even if at times it seem impossible..2nd, I suppose it's the fact, that I can recall a near death experience from several years ago and I understand that nothing is permanent but, atleast I can still manage to deal with the tyrants of my life while alive..
