Absolutely right. We can't just say NTs are the selfish ones. Everybody can be selfish - even animals.

The very nature of Autism incorporates selfish behaviour/mindset. 'A greater interest in objects than people', 'difficulty with relating to others' and so on. NT's are a lot less selfish than autistics as a general rule because they wouldn't meet the diagnostic criteria of the selfish behaviour patterns that make up autism.

Wow, seriously? I think you need to get yourself educated on autism... now. We aren't selfish in anyway at all and the problem is with people like you who don't understand how our brain works and what we go through. You are indeed selfish if you are saying we are selfish. What do you know about us and our autism spectrum disorders?

In fact, we can be just as selfish as you are but not all of us are. The way you are saying is that every person on the spectrum who is not like you is selfish.

This is a typical NT misunderstanding of how the autistic mind works. Selfish behavior is something that is indulged in deliberately, with a clear knowledge of options. Saying that autistic people are selfish shows this poster's lack of understanding. Perhaps they need the word "autistic" defined?

There is no such thing as a selfless person. They do not exist. Everyone is selfish to some extent.

Sounds like you've got a lot to handle at the moment, sorry to hear all that. It's a time when YOU have to be 'selfish' too, you're helping your sister and trying to survive, so stuff all those other people who are having a go at you. If they have a problem with that then tough sh*t.

The world might be built for NTs but it dosnt mean that there isnt space for others....i guess one could say there are selfish AS ppl and thre are those read wrong...same thing goes for NTs.....i think more often than not NTs read AS ppl wrong and become defensive, and unknowingly act in a very selfish and rude manner.....

I know lots of NTs who always expect their dinner on the table, and other selfish examples like that.

A set of behaviours does not correlate to what is an act of will (selfishness) your post is wrong and illogical.
