One other problem I had in the past was viewing porn. It's not a problem anymore, but it was something I was terrified to talk about. I know I would stay up all night viewing. There were much more productive things I could have been spending my time with. When I told someone it was a problem, he told me it wasn't illegal so what's the problem.

The problem is it was something that went again my personal morals and values. I guess that is something that could be considered a bad obsession.

I was obsessed with a man who was in my college programme, until I found out what a jerk he really was. That ended the obsession, right than and there.

I was obsessed with a girl in college. Same thing happened as you. I realized she was a jerk. Haven't thought about her since.

I for one would be flattered if an Aspie had me as an obsession, especially if said Aspie was of the female variety :P

One of my obsessions is cars. For some reason the majority of people these days are not "car people" Which surprises me as the economy today really suits people who know cars enough to do DIY maintenance... I could talk for hours about my Honda...

Cars have been a sort of on off obsession of mine for ages. Maybachs and Rolls-Royces are my kind of thing.

An interest in cars is also pretty common among males in my experience.

People have a tendency to not enjoy listening to someone talk about the same thing non stop.

I knew this one guy that constantly talked about movies and tv shows, and another that constant talked about samurais and martial arts. It got tiring very quickly.

Maybachs and Rolls-Royces is an unusual obsession, for me anyways. I tend to like the Hondas because being able to take an economy car and make it perform like a car worth many thousands more is fascinating to me. The fact that a Honda engine can produce 100+ hp per liter or more( 200 out of an Integra Type-R 1.8) is just amazing, and the fact that they can rev to 10,000 RPM is incredible.

Nah, an interest in luxury cars - or luxury anything, really - is fairly normal and socially acceptable.

I do think it's cool how cars are getting really economical these days, though.
