Actually you mean December 22 2012.

Anyway, OP, if the world DOES end then, It's likely going to be fast. You won't feel a thing.

Thanks for the catch... numbers don't like me.

I thought it was December 21, but that is extraneous.

Wasn't the guy who put it into the Gregorian (I am saying that because I am American) calendar off by like 4 years? I am pretty sure what they said was 2012 was actually 2008 and nothing happened then. I forget where it was I heard that though.

EDIT: Sorry it is 2015-2016. The monk made a miscalculation. According to the way he did it, Herod would not be alive in AD 1. In reality it is more accepted that Jesus was born anywhere between 4 BC and 6 BC based on Herod's death and other data.

EDIT #2: No, wait...if the calendar is ahead 4 years, then what is 2012 is really 2008. Don't worry folks, it will be alright.

It's not really worth worrying about, if you died of a heart attack tomorrow or if the World ended tomorrow the result would be just the same. The conclusion is the same either way. Best to block out thoughts like death and focus on more postive thoughts.

the big date that some people are freakin about is december 21st, 2012, the end of the mayan calender. the concept of a painful death is certainly frightening, but painful or no....or dying of old age first..i can't say i will personally mind all this being over :?

I wouldn't like to live to the point that my body is physcially broken.
I would however be interested to live (immortaly :P) for as long as humanity does, on my own just monitoring the changes.

I fear death in general so I share OP's anxiety. I mean can we honestly say to ourselves that what's happening in Japan right now is pretty close as we've gotten in this modern age to a post-apocalyptic scenario? Of course if it were any of the third world countries it wouldn't make you think but we're talking about a super rich technologically and socially advanced country being crippled here. I can't blame people for being a little anxious about it. It's in our aspie nature.

Dude. This is a game anyway. Liviing in the times of the destruction of everything would be pretty intense. It would be a good way to go out if you wanted to go out. Death is just shedding the cocoon of the body anyways, what is there to be scared of?

^^^ The painful bits right before the death.

"I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens." -- Woody Allen

Even the most stoic and transcendently enlightened man must admit feeling something of worry about his mortality when surprised by an angry grizzly bear in his bathroom.

I would not mind living in decline of society, screw it I am well armed and have plenty of grudges perhaps I will do some hunting. I wonder what is the best way to cook NTs?

(Note the BBQ in the background.)

Use a 6-10 inch skillet, preferably of the nonstick variety.

Fry the bacon until brown, but not too crisp, then set it aside to drain.

Then place a large round platter over the skillet and gripping platter and skillet firmly together invert the hash on top.

Serve with poached eggs if desired.

Well I'd say she certainly had marvelous judgment, Albert, if not particularly good taste.

I have an audio book of A Boy and His Dog read by Harlen Ellison the man should get into acting.

The end of the world is the end of earthly life for everyone of us = our death. So don't worry about it: we all have to die soner or later. It may be for an asteroid that crash on the Earth making all our lives end at the same time or a car crash that makes me die alone. For the individual doesn't change anything. So don't worry too much and keep living until the end will come. And the end can come at any moment, so be ready. I mean, try not to hate Jesus.

Well, I'm reminded of what George Carlin would say about 'saving the planet', but it could also be applied to so called global catastrophes:

"The *planet* is fine...the PEOPLE are f**ked!!" Even if the entire human race DID get exterminated in a single night, the Earth would just keep rolling along its orbit of the sun, like it has for the last few billion years.

Because I refuse to do so, and people who kill themselves don't go to Heaven.
