Black cat,

You could request the power company provide you with documentation that your area was with no power during X. time due to the tornado... if you filed a police report on the robbery then get a written statement as proof of it. Then get your therapist to provide a letter of support concerning your panic attacks.

No, because I have no diagnosis other than the Panic Disorder and no one gives a damn about that. Why should they?

The law says they must take it into account. Hence why you need your therapist's backing document.

Present all of this to whomever it is you need in your college along with your diagnosis and explain to them that all these things combined pushed you over the edge. As proof that you did try very hard you show them that you kept up with your schoolwork but did not have time to properly study/take the finals (which is where you bombed right?).

These are extenuating circumstances and since you do have written proof of what you claim caused this issue plus a document from your mental professional the college is forced to re-evaluate their decision concerning the financial aid.

You can also remind them that for X amount of time (how long you've been in college?) you've performed up to standards and it was just this mix of events that caused a fluke in your performance.

Remember, you are dealing with bureaucrats not with human beings when you fight for this. Without paperwork tossed in their faces, bureaucrats will always take the easy way out: they will look at their rule book and say 'sorry the rules say no soup for you' and toss you out.

Good luck and dont give up!

I'm sorry to hear that, I did the same thing not once but twice in college. I know how much it hurts but there are ways to get through this in one piece. Have you looked at the options? Is it a total fail or just one course? Have you asked for special consideration given your diagnosis? have you discussed options with your teachers? Is there a way to 'make up' the class(es) in the summer semester or were you booked for that already?

There has to be a silver lining on this cloud. Maybe just take the rest of the Pell Grant and go buy a whole bunch of lottery tickets? Just kidding.

I have no options. I failed everything. No, because I have no diagnosis other than the Panic Disorder and no one gives a damn about that. Why should they? No, the teachers are gone. I am not allowed to attend during the summer because I failed.

They don't actually go 100% by the book. They make exceptions. You need to speak to the offices I've previously told you to speak to.
