Hale_bopp, "unable to attract" means by definition that I'm not in their league! What gave you the idea that I thought I was? And while I'd like to have an attractive girlfriend, I realize that it's never meant to be, so I date whoever likes me, and try to be thankful.

What I was more getting at at the referral of "good looking girls" as the cream of the crop. Do any guys left think that personality makes someone the best catch?

Edit, nevermind, it doesn't matter, sorry.

Social bias. Do you see many people with an outstanding personality out in the streets? However, you do see quite a few "good looking people" on there, right?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning the whole "pretty people > people with character". It's just that, to the average person, the streets are full of pretty people and pretty people are so much easier to find. Not just that, but you actually have to know the person in order to see their personality; it's just so much easier for some to care purely for looks. I'm pretty sure the OP is not in this case, though, and it's merely a misunderstanding.

And yes, there are people who care for personality more than looks left. The problem? Threat of manipulation and general unhappiness - because a dumb person won't try to manipulate you much, or so it seems.

Well thats the thing. I don't really. Generic hot doesn't make me look sideways. Either way sorry for hijacking this thread, its supposed to be about helping the thread starter.

On the bright side, atleast you get dates. Lots of aspies have problems even talking to the opposite sex.
