I am usually the least anxious in the morning, before I start thinking about anything.

When I have problems sleeping I like do a number of things, but one of the most effective has been taking tinctures. Valerian and hops, either separately or together, knock me right out and I sleep well.

I would gladly take Xanax to help me get relaxed enough to sleep.

yeah i think it would be awesome. my miracle medicine was ativan.

Never heard of that I just know I like benzos like Xanax.

i took a benzodiazepam called clonazepam (at least i think it is one). i liked that too, but ativan was like hearing angels while soft kittens cuddled me to sleep.

Clonazepam is a little much for me, I had a dude give me some he had left over and it was honestly too much for me. As for Ativan if I remember right my friend ended up driving people home under the influence and he had no memory of it other then foggy dream like memories that were re-enforced when he learned he did indeed drive while in a dissociation state under ativan. though it might have been a differnt one with a simular name.

I was on Clonazepam for a while for anxiety & Essential Tremors & it did not affect me at all except the tremors were worse when it wore off; my dose was gradually increased to a high level. I tried Xanax briefly & it had a paradoxical affect when the dose was high & made me really nervous & jittery. I'm thinking about trying out Ativan sense hyper mentioned in a thread in Random that she wasn't' shaky on it.

Getting back on topic; I found having people to talk to about my depression & anxiety(like a forum to post on where people understood or chatting with people about it) to be a big help. Having people to chat with about it was motivation for me to get out of bed when I was depressed. Your welcome to PM me OP if you or anyone else would like to chat about anything

I've been this way for years. It's not just chemical, it's also circumstance. I just shake it off the best I can. How do you deal with this yourself?

I also know what you mean, I always think feel most anxious or depressed when I wake up or before I go to bed, I think it might be because we aren't distracted by our daily routine and we end up dwelling on thoughts that can trigger it. Even if you are unemployed, make a routine for yourself, set yourself short terms realistic goals and set an activity you can engage yourself in as soon as you wake up.

Yes, I always take 400mg of Valerian before I sleep, works like a charm and it's a great natural source for relieving sleep problems and general anxiety.

I struggle most in the mornings too. I can't speak for the first 2 hours that I am awake, the processing and filtering skills are just not there.

In the past two months I have been developing some seriously strict routines for the morning and it has been helping immensely (when I can stick to it perfectly). I now do EXACTLY the same thing in exactly the same order for the first 2 hours every day and it has made a big difference to me. It's all about just getting me through that time however I can, so I really don't care if I live like a robot for two hours a day.
