It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people who say they don't believe in God will shake their fists at the sky, cursing Him.
Well, humans wanted the knowledge of good & evil - we sure as heck got it.
I wish belief in God was an automatic "get out of trouble FREE" card but it ain't... any good works are usually by good people, not "miracles"... though I've experienced some very pleasant "coincidences" and "lucky breaks" in my day too. This world is unfair from top to bottom - and that's just the way it is - we can choose how to make the best of it for either personal gain at the expense of others, or we can sacrifice self for the betterment of others.
You want to blame someone for the fire that killed your pets? Figure out how the fire started.
I never cursed God. As far as I am concerned he is a character of literature and nothing more. Are people incapable of detesting and loathing fictional characters? No. Because half the time that is what gets people invested in stories. They want the 'Good' guys to win and the 'Bad' guys to lose. Humans in the story of Genesis were mindless, without will, sentience or intelligence until they were 'tempted'. Which, begs the question. How were they tempted if they lacked the prior? Why would a creator refuse to grant his creation intelligence? He has nothing to fear? Does he? Why would he create the Garden of Eden or allow Lucifer to even 'tempt' them in the first place? Why would he create them knowing they would end up damning themselves to live outside Paradise? Why would he damn them? Why would God create Lucifer with the ambition to overthrow him? Why would God sentence Lucifer and his angels to burn in hell for all eternity when they posed no threat to him. Is God sadistic? Why would he be sadistic if he is a being of good? Why didn't the angels have free will until they 'fell'. One could argue Lucifer /freed/ them. Seriously. If you can answer my questions without saying, "Don't question God. His rationale is beyond your comprehension." and have the answers make sense I'll throw my hands into the air and praise Jeebus right now.
If cursing 'God' helps the guy feel better. Let him. Don't attack him because he's insulting your imaginary friend.
