As is natures way, the pendulum of history will continue to show itself in the behaviors of people. As is it is seemingly what people want right now, some kind of New World Order will probably commence in the hopefully, far off, distant future, to which people will then spend a long long time fighting in civil wars to create nations again (to whom I salute in time). Ideals which are seemingly called obsolete now and will be again are unfortunately slandered with the wrong words. They're merely out of style. They'll be the rage again soon.

So long as it is de rigueur, certain people will flock to the ideas. But, the moment they pass through the slaughterhouse doors and realize they have been lied to and that those who promised nirvana actually want to enslave them or worse, watch the fireworks. If we view the Soviet Union and fascist Europe of the 1930s as any kind of clue, we know that those who prefer liberty don't wait long to show it.

Communism is great in theory...but, in practice, it has been a pipe dream at best, and a provocation for genocide at worse.

Communism simply cannot be boxed up. The repercussions of nationalism in Marxist thought are what keep stagnating it in practice. Cuba & the Korean People's Republic are threatened far more by outside pressure, they're not at all stuck in the '70s. If it were a global consensus we would be colonizing Mars by now. Don't knock communism if you don't remember Lunokhod. If it weren't for USSR communist technology we wouldn't have Novarka (a NATO consortium project) keeping all of us pleaseantly non-irradiated as we type.

A few extreme posters do not make the site. They roll in and they roll out usually. Really there is always that wherever you go. What your talking about would have to be a broad group-think and that I don't see happening.
