As long as you're not in some "eviction database," I don't see how a landlord could deny you a lease in your own name--provided you meet the income and credit requirements.

I certainly wasn't evicted, and I don't think it's a major default at the end of the day. I've never had any trouble with getting bond back in the past, and never had any issues with property damage etc. I'm just fretting over the blemish on an otherwise perfectly sound application. At least by posting I can get it out of my mind somewhat. I appreciate your response; a very sane and logical line of thought!

The "bond" you allude to is called the "security," as in the "one months rent and security" that is usually required in advance when beginning to rent an apartment.

Ahh, in Awwstraya we cawll it a bond, cobbah! *tips cork hat*

Oooh sounds lovely! Especially the forest. You could sit out at night and listen to the forest creatures.

That's the idea :D Also with the morning yoga and the whole turning the bottom floor into a recording studio, which the agent/landlord certainly don't need to know about

For whatever reason, 7 years does seem to be the golden rule for credit defaults etc... In Australia, at least. I'm nearly out of the woods in regards to my credit rating, which I destroyed when I had no will to live coupled with no understanding of finances. Keep moving along and the time will pass soon enough.

I've found that I've simply adapted to not relying on credit for anything, which has turned out to be a great thing. A lot of my friends are in vast amounts of debt, though they have many a shiny belonging. All of my shiny things actually belong to me; it was a real eye-opener once I hit 23-25 and learned that most of my friends who seemed to have their stuff together actually just had huge credit bills.

Cool ... I didn't realize you are in Australia...I can't even imagine all the creatures in the forest there!

Yes, me too. I'm just coming out of that state. Its encouraging that you have found success.

I will have to avoid credit if it becomes available to me. I'm not mature enough for credit.

The cafeteria job is for a local charitable organization set up to assist people with developmental disabilities. It's a casual position, not many hours, which is good. Fingers crossed.

hope you get it. would help you build history and get use to working more.

I am going be getting a new job developer. current one didn't work out as its been 6 months and no job. hopefully new one is better though I've mostly given up hope. wish I could find someone to cuddle still have super strong cravings.

I'm a lot better with money too bad i owe 25,000. they really shouldn't have given me credit cards at 18. it should be a assessment to decide if people are ready, but this is exactly what the companies want people to get in debt and forever pay them back. backfiring through. what's unfair is the companies got their(my debt included) wiped clean but I still owe them but they don't owe it o.O

11k is from school loans rest is from credit. I going look into bankruptcy when I get a job. I'm hope to just wipe the credit away and make payments on school loans since they'll willing to take small payment over the rest of my life.

just another thing that will prevent me from having a relationship.

A lot of people go through bankruptcy. It's a tool of our economy. Might as well use it.
