...Among reasons for staying in Santa Cruz at least this immediate now is:
This day , in fact , I was planning to go see the good nurse at the Homeless Persons' Health Project here (Which is the other side of a parking lot from the Homeless Services Center , the HSC side and the lot having a friggin' locked gate about it , and you gotta show (Get , if not have already .) an ID card to get in ! !! !! !! !! Bah .) , but I tarried too long down here , for one??? ~ about at least getting looked at medically .
Could that lead to at least that temporary " good shelter " thing ? Perhaps .
Perhaps not .
It might be an improvement , but I don't think it would be enough to fully cure me , anyway .
PERHAPS it could " lead to housing " . Perhaps not .
Another reason for staying around SC is someone who has said he could lead me into getting into UCSC (University of California Santa Cruz) - it's the GETTING INTO FULL-FLEDGED COLLEGE ! (I'll borrow the Australian phase " uni " ~ even if I can't travel there ! (Or Canada) , apparently , due to my record .) ~ I do want to follow that , as you could , I hope , imagine given all the tearful " I never got to full-fledged go to college " I've done just here:-( ~He thinks he could lead me to full-fledged " ride " , if you will .

Hey Man....that would be great...if it all pans out in Santa Cruz.

If Santa Cruz doesn't pan out, maybe that place in Mountain View might be an alternative.

...I went to HPHP/HSC - the nice nurse was off to-day :( , though she'd indicated she'd be on today yesterday - There' less nice there to me , I guess (Though OK ~ still .) minus her , and , a reason for going there was exploring " possibly getting some even temporary place to stay at " ~ Well , I think that is considerably less likely than I optimisically , believe it or not , thinking before going to-day :( . And , the medicos there were suggesting medical help " of not much use/practicality with my fully homeless situation :( . As usual .
It flat-out rained this morning , lucky I did have a tarp + yoga (homeless) mat - I was again raining just now , and if it keeps on raining/does more tonite :( ?
I went to HP+ for my mail , too , but without explanation the mail window was never open then .
My (drawsring , remember) pants are at the needing-to-be-held-up when walking stage , and the shoes ar6e becoming looser , too . Remember only the one set of clothes I'm wearing . :(

I know what you mean. I'm always having to pull my pants up. Not a pleasant feeling.

I hope the "nice" nurse comes tomorrow.

It's an effin bummer that it's raining now. Glad you have the tarp, though.

Why don't the "medicos" refer you to an outpatient clinic?

...Briefly , some referral from the meds today ~ But , um , " come back next week " for a likely appointment at Dominican Hospital , the main such here ~ Which has more or less shown me recently they hate me , and don't want me to come (They'd treat me adequately if I was actively-bleeding level sick professionally , I suppose .) .
The nurse is off the rest of the week :( .

...As I've said , IIRC I've mentioned everything I'm going to reference in various of my personal posts in the last monthish . If you need something explained , tho' , pliz. ask ! :)
I get my SSD in by-the-week chunks , which makes getting enough $ at one time for more ambitious projects tuff . (This happened as a way of getting my money back from an outfit in San Francisco which (via the back door/against my consent) had wizened their way into taking my payee status from me :( , AND THEN , blatant stolen , not only $ from me , but caused me to lose a lifetime share of mineral royalties my father left me which I could have been receiving TO THIS DAY ! !! !! !! !! !! - A quick patch to get the money back to me , anyway , that is .
Okay , having backgrounded it here , I will write something I thought ~ Were I to get a one-time " full " check , of the standard " full-month " SSD I receive , what I might do with it as per now ~ I probably wouldn't do all of these , probably couldn't in fact , and there's other things ~ But , it's kind of " cleaning myself/setting thingus up to , perhaps staying around North/Central Cali and staying in touch with the possibilities here in SC I have mentioned ~

...Go up to two sets of clothes ~ The most ambitious I might go to for might be new stuff from the likes of that Watsonville Latino-ish Army8/Navy sorta store , maybe a new 2nd hhand 2nd set , the only one 2nd hand set7 I now have is maybe not worth washing longterm or would it be more virtuous to stick to that ?
Likewise , a new belt or two .
A 2nd set of shoes .
My main luggage really is falling apart now , something new (I don't think there's much use in trying to find a " good " backpack " 2nd hand .) in that .
Underwear .
Some sort of technology/cell phone set-up . Not expensive/bigtime and I think I might likely not even be able to get a contract cell phone , thereby meaning another " minutes-in-advance " plan (and no Craigslist personal ads , sniff , sniff , sniff  ) .
Maybe a couplish days at the cheaper of the Santa Cruz motels ~ not for long-term rest , more immediate rest/washing/getting ready ~ and shopping minus the ball & chain , I'll pouint that out .
Some money in my ATM card .
I do have a set-up USPS address at the SC HSC (which I owe money on) , I can keep it indefinitely and it is a real USPS .
After some additional contacts may have been made with the place/school possibilities in SC I've mentioned , perhaps , washed and w/enuff (-ish) clothes/stuff , I could at least go around the " area " (Monterey and San Francisco Areas) staying in touch/able to come back here if something develops .
MAYBE I could do stuff like getting a new copy of my birth certificate (I was born in NYC - Manhattan) and I think some other " next step " " practical " things .

You could get a copy of your birth certificate pretty easily. You'd have to do it by mail, though. It costs $15.

Just go to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene website.

Isn't there someplace you can get donations of clothes?

I have seen in our local newspaper last year that they've had clothes drives for the needy and on more than one occasion in our city, have organized free markets where homeless and / or needy folk can come and "buy" the donated clothes for free, which I thought was pretty cool!

In fact when I was staying in a shelter, when things weren't going do well a number of years ago (and before I was diagnosed) we used to get to choose good quality donated clothing, some of which I still have (!) including a very good pair of hiking boots!

...Briefly , KK , I knew that already , I've got new bcs from NYC in the past , and , Envi , that's not really possible with me :( - st7arting with the fact that I'm really unusual size , and then , I'd need to (1) take a shower , (2) put on the new clot7hes - Or , the washed clothes , INSTANTLY* then ~ Really , I'd need at least one absolutely clean set of clothes and another - reliable - palce to sleep to not go back to picking them up again .
Meanwhile I) am itching now  ...........

...I'm really thinking the " nice shelter " thing here is QUIT&E unlikely , and , the HPHP people are obsessed with the old groove of " get a medical appointment " at (the hospital that hates me :( )...Really , dragging my tired ass  , holed foot , bad leg , ball and chain there would likely be negative as far as maitenence of my feet , if I have nowhere to rest , and leave my stuff when I go out :( ...I may be running into problems with my need to piss , too :( .

...A thought , CR ~ But , for one , that person in this area who says he could set up in/guide me to a full ride at UCSC is , he and I are , coming close to at least starting the process , and I'd really need to get that going , at least , before going somewhere else .
It would be a long-term process ~ It's fall 2016 for a starting date that even he was speaking of .
I do imagine I could start the process and ramble around a bit after it did ~ Though this , maybe , is my tendency to imagine myself being some sort of " cool - romantic/bohemian pseudo-Kerouac-ian HL-ness that would look good on a book jacket/in a PR release " , ha ha :? ~ However , I really need to start the process (Likely some sort of community college before it , too , but there's some possible problems there , it looks like going to the well-thought of community college ~ Cabrillo ~here might not be do-able in the way I imagined it could be .)

...There is a Project Homeless-Connect coming up here t7his week ~ I'll probably go , but for instance , as far as clothes , I wear something like 9 T-shirt7s , a sports jacket , and a button-able shirt on top , almost all of them 2nd-hand ~ And I'm still pretty chilly/not warm enough , unlike the earlier clothes that I had to toss at the watsonville missio-n .

...Two years back , there was a Project Homeless Connect hiere , and I went , and got some nice stuff ~ and I was arrested later that week/on for what became the three-weeks jail stint - And the cop who arrested me , who said that he would throw out all my bags there - and he did ! (Here , when folks w/backpacks/guitars/what. are arrested , the po-pos keep that stuff , in a storeroom in the police station , while in-pocket " personal items " and clothes are kept by/at the County Sheriff's station , where the jail is .)
(The same policman had clearly been a po-po who went around scooping up HL's " u9attended " stuff and taking them a fewish days earlier too .)
He wasn't supposed to - but he did :( .
I had got some nice 1970s " comic book novels " paperbacks (The Executioner-Punisher sort of stuff .) out of the books available at the P/HC that week too :( .
When I got out that jail stint , too , though I got my items back ~ All? of my shirts , may8be all bu9t one , had been thrown away by the Sheriffs' . They " too-k up more than one total box space " , y'see .
They did dig me up maybe one shirt ~ After that I got some immediate needed clothes at a Goodwill (throwing away the dug-up one) , it totally finishhed off any idea I may of had of going to the HPHP that day , though I likely wouldn'tve anyway :( .
As I said , a " bonus month " worth of cash could let me re-clothe , de-bug :(...........

I wish dick-head authority figures like that wouldn't take do things illegally and deprive you of your basic rights and possessions. Perhaps you could have laid a charge at the time?

I so dislike it when certain cops abuse their authority and act as if they own the city...

Go for it and attend this PH Connect;it sounds like a great idea.
