Not directly. My doctors have seemed to have a taboo about talking about it. Maybe they think it's a life choice or something. But it's not. It's a sign of desperation. When I cut the most prominent feelings I have are anger, a desire to escape from myself and self-hatred. It's like I just can't stand to be trapped in myself. That is why distraction is such a good technique. If you can pull the person out of that thinking, they can get through the moment. Ultimately she has to deal with it herself. But to my mind it's a way of showing stress and helplessness. I hope she has some luck with the referral.
