Normal people gaslighting you

My mother has gaslighted me before. She doesn't do it all the time but it's enough of how many times she has done it. She will only do it in certain situations while abusers will do it all the time like daily and in about everything.

I don't consider anyone who would gaslight another person as truly normal. Conniving or manipulative would be more to the point.

To answer the OP's question, yes. My dad has done that to me a few times when I was younger.
However, in regard to 'normal' people doing that, I get that, as well. It's mostly from people I try to befriend, yet want nothing to do with me. Are they intentionally trying to make me think I suck at being a friend? I doubt it. Is there something else going on of which I'm unaware? Probably. I don't know.
