I am 27, and I worry that I am old.

Soph, don't feel too badly. I hated birthdays for a long time, and now I just ignore them. Nineteen is a funny sort of age. I can remember being nineteen and hating it. Nothing I could put into words, just a general feeling of hating it. Hopefully it'll pass, and you'll be able to see what's good about it in time.

I'm 19 too. I must have had ten pints last night. Anyway, I'm not sure this helps much but we try our best here. :)

In view of Tequila's inebriated state, the fact that I'm Australian, and Sopho needs some cheering up, I present the Philosopher's Song!

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable.

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table.

David Hume could out-consume
Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel,

And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.

There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed.

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.

Plato, they say, could stick it away--
Half a crate of whisky every day.

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle.
Hobbes was fond of his dram,

And René Descartes was a drunken fart.
'I drink, therefore I am.'

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker,
But a bugger when he's pissed.

You have home and food provided for you, you don't have to worry about money, you don't have to worry about working, you have time to spend on the forums all day.

So in essence there isn't really that much to worry about.

Seriously though, you should cheer up; you have a whole summer to do what you want; take up a new interest or follow an old one.

To be honest, most people don't really celebrate birthdays after their 18th (apart from their 21st which a lot of people make a big deal out of)

Sigh I am turning 24 this year and I don't have much to show for it. :( Man they tell you of all the things you'll be doing as you get older, bah I'm 23 and I still haven't gotten any closer to any sort of career or any of that. Sorry, I guess I am not helping much by ranting on the thread  . May those who make us think we will become astronauts when we were kids get cancer or something.
