Most people get looked down upon for some reason at some point in their life...

I get looked down upon...
...For being unemployed when I was so.
...For being a part time worker (apparently that would be acceptable if I was in school with long hours or had kids, but not when it's all I do.)
...For not being in a relationship (this is rather rare, but it does happen.)
...For being an atheist.
...For having hobbies a bit unusual for a woman my age.
...For being a woman (pretty much only here in WP though.)
...For being young (mostly by relatives.)
...For my bad spoken language skills (in Japanese class, when I try to speak English abroad and sometimes I stutter in Finnish too.)
...For a lot of other things.

:D

I was looked down upon...but not because of what I did, but of how I acted, I was weird. Adult are a lot more sophisticated than kids.
I found that being young, you lose legitimacy in the workplace.
Btw, what are your hobbies?

Well, my most important one is writing. Not blogs or the like, that's apparently acceptable, but fiction. Just my own fictional stories that sometimes may or may not be cliche. It seems like it's seen as weird as long as you haven't gotten anything published... another thing is cosplay. Those not doing it themselves seem to see it as really weird.

Kinda feels like the most accepted "hobbies" for women my age are shopping, running in bars and hanging around with each other for no reason. Sports are acceptable if you've had that sporty hobby since you were a kid and are really in to it.

Of course, I'm sure this isn't so black and white, but this is the message the society around me seems to send and it's not just me who says this; some NT women have pointed out the same.

IDK they dont seem strange at all. Cosplay is quitr common, ever hear of Civil War enactors? Also I know lots of women who erite fiction who are not published. Getting your work published is quite hard .
I have some hobbies or interests that for ny age seem to be out of the norm like playing D&D, watching anime, playing video games and reading comics. But there are people my age who do, just not a lot.
Maybe you live in a small town where you are not exposed to a larger array of people with wider interests.

Be glad you atleast don't live in the Bible Belt. If you are a guy and enjoy doing those things, you are either "weird" or "Satanic" according to rednecks while hip hoppers think you are a "dork" or "fa***t". Rednecks also think video games are dangerous but actual guns are ok despite how video games themselves can't harm anyone while firearms are meant to kill living beings.

Being a santanist and being weird are two different things. And lets be honest few people arthinking of you at all, most probably think you are a quiet shy guy

I know that. It's just that rednecks think both things are one in the same. They also think every state outside Texas is Canada but also think everything outside the USA is "evil".
