Do good.
People will think you have ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

Yay! I like this one (well, ALL of them!); CockneyRebel just stated Autism in sum - perfect. Autists are profession at not being afraid of being our own self.

One time, after waking for a nap, I realized I had to leave and meet some friends. However, I wasn't in the "social" mood. But I said to myself, "I must socialize, even if it kills me." It might not make much sense, but it sounded purposeful enough at the time. So I did, and it was great.

I should nt wait for approval by others
I should not care for waht people think of me
I should be less self centered. but I have to love myslef first before I can start loving others
I should be less suspiscious of other people's thoughts
But i want to be what I am and dress the way I want and stand out even if it draws attention to me, which again turns me into the centre of the world, which people hate about me
I should talk less and listen more to others, but I get easily bored with what theya re saying, what I say is so much more interesting, after all I had a life's that's full and when I die they can play 'My way'.
I should not heed envy or jealousy, but it hurts when people criticise me or badmouth me and it hurts when they misinterpret me
I am proud of my photographic memory
I am proud of my skills in art and languages and verbal expression, thanks to being an aspie and seeing the world in different angle and therfor take stances which are diametrically opposed to NTs usually.
I was born a rebel against mediocracy and half heertedness

I am strong, capable, competent, intelligent and independent.
I am not perfect, I do not need to be.
I am different from others, and thats okay.
I have been through a lot, lived horribly, lived untrue,
been petrified of my own mind, consumed by it, destroyed by it.
Damaged myself and damaged others.
I've fallen victim to myself and will probably fall again but,
I have survived and I will continue to survive.

And still freshly twenty young as it might be I've wasted so much time
my accomplishments are easily forgotten by my faults that I need to improve
What I will continually remember however is
My hell I live, I live it and its mine.
I create it, I can destroy it
And I will survive.

You have a similar mentality to me. That would have pretty much been my pledge a few years ago, when I was living on the edge.

After reading the pledge, and thinking about it I think that I agree with much of it while I have never considered the matters in the formal way of having a pledge.

I am not defective. I am different. I agree on this point
I will not sacrifice my self-worth for peer acceptance.I agree strongly on this point
I am a good and interesting person. I like to think this point is true but just becuase I think I am interesting does not mean anyone else will find me interesting
I will take pride in myself.I agree on this point, I should do the best for myself for instance I should not dress like a scarecrow
I am capable of getting along with society.I agree on this point is society is going to be reasonable
I will ask for help when I need it. I agree on this point, but it is hard to swallow your pride sometimes and ask for help
I am a person who is worthy of others' respect and acceptance.I agree on this point
I will find a career interest that is well suited to my abilities and interests. It is in my best interest to do so, but not all people with AS can find a career which suits them
I will be patient with those who need time to understand me.I should be patient
I am never going to give up on myself.I agree on this point
I will accept myself for who I am.very important point

I would also add

I will do my best to accept others, both NTs and non-NTs. But accepting people does not always mean agreement with them.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

I am a happy and carefree person.

I can deal with my depression on my own.

I will get over it, it is temporary.

I will never find true love...

I just realized this doesn't work when you're depressed.

i've got one to add
a lot of people i know say that AS is a disability but my answer to that is:
I will not see myself as "disabled," no matter what others say.

I'm going to print out all the ones I agree with in the entire thread & put 'em up in my room.

If you cannot accept me it is not because I am flawed,
it is because you are flawed.
I can wait patiently for you to awaken to my beauty.
Then we will be friends,
for I have loved you already.
