Why is WrongPlanet such a dangerous website?

Why does WrongPlanet have all of these restrictions? I thought this would be a SAFE place, but it's not as safe as it looks! Let's make it so WrongPlanet will let us change our username, take down our posts that have replies on them and even delete our account if we need to!


The mods will help edit anything you want to take back, but I agree that the site is a bit too locked down and out of my own control for my own comfort. I'm very careful about what I post, which is kind of not the point in a forum that's supposed to be a safe haven for people suffering...

That's called "Sockpuppetry", and it's against the rules. The first account would have to be re-assigned a random password by a moderator before Alexa could create a new account.

On second thought, if she privately told the moderators that she was creating a new account and requested they "lock" her old one, that might work, too.

This is the only inherently "dangerous" thing you mentioned, and it is not even a feature of this website. As for the rest, follow the previous replies in this thread and (1) read the rules before posting again, and (2) contact the moderators to resolve the other issues.

I mean, this. This is the answer.

I assume you already know this, Alexa, but please be more careful in picking a username next time. It is far too easy to find personal information about you with your full name, and with the social media presence you have.
