If you get an MRI, try to make sure it’s an “Open” MRI.

It feels like Lump has grown a little even since my appointment on Tuesday. Then sometimes I didn’t feel it in my throat, now I constantly do, and more prominently. I wish it could at least be shoved over a little so it was no longer pressing against my throat.

Tried to take my collection of meds all at once like I can usually do, Lump decided that wasn’t going to happen. Fortunately I was able to catch all my meds, but then I had to take them more slowly and without coating. And Lump feels extra uncomfortable after that. I don’t care what it is at this point, I just want it to quit infringing on my throat.

Probably no results today, either, since we have yet to receive a phone call. I guess for the blood test (one week ago tomorrow), I’m probably getting shoved back multiple times for people getting tested for COVID-19 related stuff and cancer isn’t usually as immediately dangerous as that, so even though they’re checking me for something serious, I’m of lower priority (not necessarily saying I shouldn’t be, there’s a reason they’re doctors and I’m not, and the reason is that they know a heck of a lot more about medicine than I do - definitely not trying to criticize anyone’s work or anything, if there are tests more urgent than mine that need to be run, then absolutely they should be run ahead of mine).

Oh, I did get results, just later than I expected they would be sending calls. Referrals for a hematologist and an ENT specialist, and orders for a CAT scan being sent in (but can’t we just take care of that last one with our housecat? ). Apparently blood tests show that my iron level is now over 10, but my body isn’t getting the iron to where it needs to be. Ultrasound was inconclusive (I’m guessing because it’s such a mess in there that differentiation and good views are hard to get). So, that’s what I’ve got now.

I found out this morning that I am apparently going to see an oncologist as well, at least to either rule out or confirm cancer. ENT visit on Friday, no other appointments scheduled yet but several referrals sent in.

Who would’ve guessed that one not-so-little lump would require the attention of so many people? My goodness. I guess I’ll be having a ton of appointments in the near future, probably won’t be able to keep them all straight, but my mom will assist me.

I hope they attend to the lumps in an expeditious manner.

CT scan tomorrow, will also get a copy of the scan on disc to give to the ENT doctor, who I see the next day, then Tuesday I see the oncologist. Hopefully that means I’ll at least know if it’s probably cancer or not by Tuesday, though I wouldn’t be surprised if more tests need to be done and I’ll have to wait for the results of those.

Saw the ENT today, will get an appointment made for a needle biopsy, if that isn’t enough tissue they may need to surgically take more. Also the mass goes down farther than I had thought, into the lymph nodes in my chest and partially blocking my right airway (so that may be the reason I’m having some shortness of breath instead of it being an effect of the anemia). This just keeps getting better and better

So basically the CT scan said “There’s a bunch of stuff in there, it goes down into her chest too, we need a sample to see if it’s cancerous or not.”

Thank you both :D

I don’t want to say anything to my parents and make them worry any more than they have to, but I’ve been more concerned about this today since it’s confirmed to be partially blocking my airway and probably still growing. I think there was also some mention of it possibly starting up on the left side as well. I’ve been increasingly worn out over the past week or so, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing because my body is trying hard to fight the bad stuff or if it’s actually the mass that’s using the energy and stuff to keep growing, which would obviously be a bad thing.

My mom suggested I name the neck/chest mass, I thought quickly and decided to call it Legion, since it’s one mass made up of a bunch of smaller masses.
