My case worker was the one who got me the place so that's what I mean by apparently it doesn't matter if both sexes are living in a rooming house. They gave me disability benefits anyway.

No, I think that place isn't officially just for men anymore. Maybe it once was. But I once heard the landlord say that boys are cleaner than girls. So I guess he'd rather have mostly men in there.

I always thought girls were cleaner than boys? Why is he thinking the opposite?

I don't know because I seem to be doing most of the cleaning in that place. I never hear or see anyone cleaning there. Someone did the dishes after they were piled in the sink for months. The person who did them probably wasn't even the one who dirtied them. Probably just got tired of seeing them there.

There was a young woman in her late 20's though, that for some reason never took any garbage out of her room. She was there for well over a year and it just kept piling up. And when she moved she put bags and bags of garbage and recyclables in the parking lot. It didn't even seem like the garbage was separated. She's on disability too from what I've heard. I'm not sure for what though.

So from what you are saying I gather that it is not like each person lives separately as happens in appartment complexes, but rather its a type of community where they all live together?

What kind of people is it for? Is it for homeless people -- is that why they are all so dirty?

It's a rooming house so each person gets their own room and can lock it. We all have to share bathrooms and kitchens. There's like 6 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. For some reason I've got 6 men using my bathroom right now, even though they've got their own bathrooms close to their rooms. They probably don't use their own bathrooms, because mine is the only clean bathroom in the house. But whatever, these are all basically public washrooms.

It's just a cheap rooming house where a lot of people get out of the mental hospital and go there or people that are homeless or people that just want to save money. Anyone can stay there, even if they're just trying to pay off their student loan or something.

I think the reason it is so gross is because people are just like that in the town I live. I've heard so many people complain about how they hate living in my town. I don't really like living here either.

lol nah He's got a girlfriend.

The landlord doesn't put much effort into our building these days. He's got a landscaping job and owns his own horses and chickens. He can't be making much money off our place. The rent is low and the lights are always on. The oil truck is always here.

You have given up the idea, but you could have bought a portable stove/griller and microwave to have in your room, money permitting.
I have done that, due to the coronavirus. ;)

I don't think she would want me to use anything other than a microwave and a mini fridge. It's also back a sub division far from everywhere in town I need to go. The winters make walking difficult in Canada due to snow, slush, and ice.

Like I said if something similar pops up and it's right in town I don't need to worry about food if it's close from the soup kitchens and food bank. The way the woman was talking and asking if I had a car, job, boyfriend etc...Don't think she wants to give me drives every single day if I got a job or whatever.

I still have the application to stay at her place. But I told her yesterday that it wasn't a good fit for me so no thanks. She told me yesterday when I looked at the place that she would have made her decision by next weekend.....so if I emailed her back if I changed my mind and said that I actually did want the place....would that seem weird?

Yeah. Well if she hasn't chosen anyone yet, if I still have a week to decide, I might change my mind. I said it's a long walk but it's only 15 to 20 minute walk into town. It's just in winter that might be hard. Where I live now it's not even 5 minutes to walk to the places I need to go.
