A little bit about him.

My father: scholarship to King Edward's Birmingham, commissioned as an army officer, but switched to join the Foreign office. Was head of the migration and visa dept 1980-1981. Consul general to Atlanta 1981-1985. Was protocol adviser for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He was smart as can be.A model railway enthusiast .- GWR. We shared an interest in genealogy/family history. He liked the Marx brothers and Tom Lehrer.

Have you considered writing a short memoir of what you recall?

I'm sure your little grandchildren would appreciate it one day.

As is typical for someone with total aphantasia my autobiographical memory is somewhat poor . My sister would be best able to write such a book.

My Heartfelt sympathies FireMonkey .....have had many losses in my lifetime aswell .. And some very very special peoples.Hope you can make it through this period of time without too much pain . :(
