Computers keep coming down in price. How much does that computer that you are thinking about cost now?

If you decide to live a bit longer, I'm sure that you will be able to afford it eventually.
Its under $600,but it'll ALWAYS be out of my reach,i have NO way to make any decent money...

Find a way to be happy without a gaming computer.

The biggest mistake I ever made was getting into video games as a kid. I wish I had all that time back that I could've spent improving myself. Now I'm way behind on climbing the social ladder and I have to work my ass off to catch up to everyone else. Start doing real stuff now or else you'll end up a worthless sack of s**t like me.

Well guess what? only thing that can make me happy is playing games like Medieval 2 and such decently on new computer, there is NOTHING else that can make me happy, unless you're willing to find ways good sir.

If the only thing that makes you happy is escaping from reality, then maybe you don't have any reason to be alive.

I wouldnt say that, the use of psychadellics can cause an effect of escaping reality but you still have a reason to be alive. RTSgamer, if your entire life playing videogames and nothing else, make the best of life and trip every day. At least try to make things interesting if you cant get that computer you need. Or try to find a way to come up with the money, if at all possible.

I apologize for saying that. It was a very rude and abrasive thing to say. I'm sure you have more to live for, you just need to look harder and find it. Instead of focusing on what makes you happy temporarily, maybe you should dedicate your time to something that will make you permanently happy in the long run, such as learning a new skill or getting a girlfriend. Of course these things take much time and effort, but they can make you a lot happier than a new computer can. In order to be happy, you just have to want it enough.

Well, finding a girl i can relate to is next to impossible, unless i tried to use myspace or facebook (Which i really don't wanna do unless i have to...) besides i think love is a joke...at least romantic love, but as for skills,i could learn more about computer's and maybe become some sort of computer techincan, but i could also tinker around with a gaming computer (Overclocking,Hard Drive Partitions, etc) so i could learn a good deal of knowledge there, but IDK of any other skills i could learn of...

And i am actually considering running away from home because life (at least my life...) is a b***h...

I spend too much time daydreaming which I guess is about as bad as video game play. :) Though in some ways video games might be better as they might speed the brain up.

Try reading books instead. Douglas Adams, Stephen King, Terry Pratchett.

What if you had been born 10 or 20 years earlier - do you think gaming would have been any less enjoyable?

If you were born 20 years later & its now 2027 - would you be in a state of bliss because of the photo-realism?

Well if i had been born 10 or 20 years earlier, and lived to this day i'd still prefer Better Grafx over Crap Grafx, unless its in a Platformer, then i can live with crap grafx (Crash Bandicoot 3 FTW!) but for my RTS and FPS games,i need decent grafx,or else the whole experinice is taken away.

I dont think you quite get my point. Imagine you were born 10 years earlier, but you are the same age you are now. The year is 1997.Would you look at the FPS/RTS games of 1997 and think 'those are simply not worth playing - the graphics are terrible' ? I doubt it. I think you would have been just as attracted to them back then as you are now, to the games of this era.

Similarly, can you imagine someone posting this exact post 10 years in the future, they would be effectively saying that the games that you want to play now are not immersive enough for them to bother with.
