To be on the safe side, I try to avoid saying things that are contrary to popular local opinion.

The problem is that NTs don't take actual physical fights or reckless damage caused by bullies seriously, as they find it "endearing" to a troubled youth. However, they're more than happy to punish smart, intellectual students based on zero tolerance policies which they don't have the common sense to enact against a real threat, and hearsay spread by popular students to weed out the unpopular ones.

This is the kind of stuff I've faced several times from kindergarten on through my college graduation.

You have two options, and neither one will make you very popular. The first is to ignore it, shrug it all off. The pros with this approach are that you don't get into any kind of mess, except what the idiot instructors and staff assign to you because "so and so said such and such". That, assuming you have reliable witnesses, can be fought off. The downside with this approach is that these people will keep harassing you because you're different.

The second approach is to come after them with a taste of their own medicine. You have to be harder, tougher, and more of a monster than they are to make them stop, sometimes to the point of violence. The pros in this case are that these students will no longer be in the physical or mental condition to ever stand up to you again (assuming you take it to an all-out brawl). Secondly, You get two weeks off of school (they call such vacations "suspension") in which you have time to get more important things done.

The down side to this case is that the administrative staff, teachers, and everyone in that school, as well as in the district, will think you are the next Kip Kinkle, or Virginia Tech killer. They will also start spreading more rumors about you, and start making fun of you at an even greater rate, as the students in Thurston did to Kinkle. Just weeks after the shooting, there is video footage of the students taunting the boy they were once running from for their lives, all because he was restrained by the police.

You will also find local "rent-a-cops" giving you an attitude in the school, with long-winded lectures about how screwed up you are for taking the necessary measures to defend your existence.

The only real solution is to actually kill these people, and do so in such a way as you can't get caught. Other than living with murder on your conscience (is it really murder when it's a lower lifeform?), you'd just have a bunch of students wondering where Johnny Student disappeared to.
