Well...

I made an attempt earlier.

Talked to dad about it. He wants to help me. Thing is, I don't know what he can do.

Glad to hear you dad wants to help.

I wasn't expecting that to turn out so well but only because of my experiences with my own dad.

Maybe some folks here will have some ideas as to how your dad can help.

as a side note.. I did drop in on your myspace.

I had to laugh at your line, "I make crappy crappy music" that's exactly how I feel about my own musical abilities :P

My daughter bought me the sheet music to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" for my birthday this year.
I'm still working on it.

So you play guitar and synth and other instruments?

Nope.

I have an acoustic (just got it, actually) but I don't know how to play yet.

What's on my myspace site is karaoke tracks I recorded.

That's interesting.
I have never dealt with Karaoke.
I know what it is, but I don't go to bars and do not know anyone who has one at home... well, actually I did drop by a friend's house this evening and they have a small one for their daughter that hooks up to the t.v.

I recently got a synthesizer from a friend I did some work for.
It has these memory cards and supposed to have lots of sounds on them, but so far I cannot get the thing to play.
I haven't spent too much time on it though.

Are you planning on teaching yourself to play the guitar or take some lessons?
I have played since High School which I graduated from in '78, but I still don't play really good.
Since I've had my electric guitar, I've been using books, dvd's and internet to learn some stuff on it, but I am planning on taking lessons locally soon.

Anyway, hope things improve for you... it'd be cool to hear you play songs on your own guitar!

Do you have music software like GarageBand or Audacity?
I like, and use, them a lot with any music I record or manipulate.

Oh, I don't bother with that. There's a website called Singsnap where you can record yourself singing.

The guitar came with an instructional DVD... but I don't know if I have the patience to learn like that. I think I would need hands-on experience.

Thanks.

I use Audacity to record (and sometimes edit) my karaoke songs.

I used to do things with ACID, but I lost all my loops and I don't remember where I found half of them.

Anyway, a small update.

We found a neuropsychologist who sees kids and young adults. One of her specialties is in ASD's so she may be able to give me a diagnosis.

Wish you well, hope you can keep going until things improve somehow.

was the link I wanted to post in a thread of yours at Gestalt (but site wouldn't allow me to comment on that thread).
My words can't do anything for your misery, so I offer stuff to read. I cope with my upsetment by filling time doing what I enjoy-reading, writing, sleeping, drawing, watching my cat play.

Hey Beau, that's GREAT news about the therapist!

I really hope you two work well together.
Are you going to get in to see her soon or do you have to wait a while?

ACID! I have been told that it's a really good program for what it does.
I thought I heard it wasn't being sold anymore?

That's one of the programs I want... hope I can still get it.

Don't know...

We're going to call on Wednesday to see what we can do.
