They will not do it, that's what I believe. Why should they?

This whole plan is delusional.

If you read the thread, you'll see that I have now dismissed the idea. SLAGIATT.

well above is another example of what Autism Speaks does....misinforms.And please do not go there and spam them or anything because they already think we are a....." bunch of snot nosed paranoid dangerious immature ill informed,etc,etc,etc...."

I mean it pissed me off reading the thread but you aren't going to convince them of anything ...as one poster(autie)pointed out...

"You can't reason someone out of something that they didn't reason themselves into".....ie...the worst of them do not use reason(logic and fact) to come to their opinions and nothing you say will make them "able" to do so...perhaps a form of brain damage?

But why make such a thread if it was such a silly idea in the first place?

You miss the point - it wasn't. SLAGIATT = Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time.

Anonymous is not a 'they'.

If you organise a bunch of people, to wear masks and go protest Austism Speaks, that group could call themselves Anonymous.

Really the name just applies to a group of people who want to speak out about something, but don't want their identities known.

So why not do it? Go to their offices, stand outside in a big group with costumes, placards and loud hailers, and say things like:

"We're autisitc! We're speaking! [point at offices] THEY AREN'T AUTISTIC! THEY DON'T SPEAK FOR US!"

[Speaker] "Do we cure people because their sexuality is different?"

[Group Responds] "NO!"

[Speaker] "Do we cure people because the color of their skin is different?"

[Group Responds] "NO!"

[Speaker] "Do we cure people because their religion is different?"

[Group Responds] "NO!"

[Speaker] "So who wants to cure people, because the way they think is different?"

[Group Responds, pointing at Autism Speaks offices] "THEY DO!"

If they were based in the U.K. I'd be doing it.

As tempting as it is to get 4chan involved, I don't think it would be worth dealing with 4-chan

Wow, a bad case of ADHD in the director of this. Who exactly made it?

(in this area I am just a dumb foreigner trying to find out who's who)

Some really good things to learn in that video – although some of it was basically ****.

I believe these quotes are so true:

“Do not think people are judging you because your child is autistic.

They are judging you because they do not know the child is autistic.

Tell them kindly.

People have to be educated that your child is not just misbehaving.

You are responsible for giving them that information and advocating for fair treatment of your child.”

I didn't get the beginning bit. Something about autistic people panicking and running from home?

I thought the God stuff was just dire. I said “Oh God,” when I saw it at first – then laughed at myself. I had to skip the rest of the God bit.

Some of the next bit was pretty dire, but we should still love autistic people for who they are as well.

What they show with Josh is quite good.

From minutes 4:10 to 4:30 – that is exactly my mum’s situation!! (Well, she did not think about taking me to school, but the way she wanted to kill me and herself if it were not for the fact she was pregnant).

I know some people are going to kill me for thinking that video was pretty good.
