I don't know how it is in the states, but in this country your student loans are forgiven if you become a nurse (due to high demand).
A lot of the positions on a cruise ship are entry level. I know a woman who worked on stage crew with no training beforehand (she'd done some community theatre, but obviously anyone can say that). I would still check it out if I were you.
