Playing it would feel like cheating though.

Like I snuck an extra ace into the deck.

I view conversation as a sort of game, the aim of which is to keep playing as long as possible and run the other participant through as many emotions as possible, all while ensuring they will talk to me again.

Of course there's no saying I can't cheat now and again...

Just not all the time.

I was under the impression that it's a good thing if someone isn't suffering from lasting trauma over a bad event.
