Well its true, at the very least he should take Mr.Jinx to a rescue centre. The likely hood of a domesticated cat surviving on the streets is very slight.

What I know of cats, is that they will bite under stress and pain. They really aren't doing this to be mean, even the most friendly cat will do this- but as an unthinking reaction. Usually once the stressors go away, the cat becomes normal again.

Even I have tried to bite someone who was trying to help me, but it was an instinctive reaction. I wouldn't do it in normal situations, only when my stress went too high to cope with it.

Do you still have the cat?

My cat attacked me when she was in pain from her tail bite. Did you change your cats diet?
He's probably in pain.

Have you tried making him drink more water? They like fresh water from the faucet.

I wouldn't even put up with that for a day. Pets suck.

what are you talking about? taking the cat to the rescue center/pound is guaranteeing that the cat will be killed. abandoning the cat is a better idea than dropping it off at the pound to meet its demise. what kind of sick bastard are you?

Sorry to be so harsh, but you're both wrong. There is a third solution: a no-kill shelter. There aren't many of them, though. Use Google or a phone book to find such a shelter near you, and take the cat there. It may be a bit of a drive, but if your cat's life is important to you (and I'm sure it is), it'll be well worth it. Your cat will remain in the shelter until someone adopts him.

That was acutally what I was refering to. Our local rescue centre is no kill, and they are always finding good homes for abandoned or lost pets. That is what I was refering to, rather than somewhere that would put him to sleep if he hadn't found a home within a month or so.

how am I wrong? your third option doesn't prove anything at all

how many people do you think will go out of their way to drop their unwanted pet off at a no-kill shelter? they can just lock it out of their house or drop it off somewhere. don't you wonder why there are not many of these no-kill shelter?
