Paranoia's a common side-effect, which would probably increase your problems. And there's the risk of schizophrenia which comes with heavy use. And the cancer and respitory problems that it shares with tabacco smoking.
Besides, alcohol's a depressant, try that if you want to forget. Or a lobotomy, or suicide, or dissociatives, or prescribed anti-depressants, or prescribed anti-anxiety medication, or acting against the source of your worries... Basically, self-medicating's not really a thing you should decide to go for.

I recommend LSD rather than marijuana, because LSD has a higher chance of causing depersonalization disorder. With depersonalization disorder, you will always feel numb. The numbness might get to you to make you suicidal.

What? So you want him to take LSD and kill himself?

I only do mary jane ever so often, it ruins me mentally for the next few days.

You won't be successful in getting high from a marijuana tea.

I stand corrected on that point.

Anti-depressants wouldn't work, I tried them and they just made me hyper.

Anyways, I don't think there is a drug to get rid of feelings of overemotionality (except medication for Histrionics.)

Don't dissociatives, like ketamine, or narcotics, like opium, have this effect?
Out of interest, what meds did you take that made you hyper? Can't have been a depressant, and I don't think it's a side-effect of SSRIs but that's a long list which I don't have memorized.

I took an ANTI-depressant. So, yes it's reasonable it would make me hyper. It was one of those popular medications (like zoloft and the like) and even a small dose made me hyper.

And thanks for telling me about disassociative drugs, the only problem now is I don't know where to obtain them.

Well, I wouldn't know how to go about getting prescribed them, maybe as treatment for chronic-pain. As for getting street drugs, then there's the moral issue, the legal issue, and the purity issue. I would recomend talking with your doctor about anxiety.
Oh, and a drug can be both a depressant and an anti-depressant: former for it's method, that of generally slowing the brain, the latter for it's purpose, that of helping with depression.

Marijuana has with me (and the most others I know) a strong relaxing even lethargic effect, combinated with a "feeling-good-factor". The "not caring" attitude can become stronger. It is more a drug to come down from being highly agitated than to motivate you to do anything.

Let see what is a strong factor for people do something: They feel better if it is done, if you take marijuana to often you will learn that you can get this feeling without actual doing something. I do not think that THC is in your situation really helpful, it would not motivate you to care.

BTW: The same is true here for alcohol.

If you want to feel less then ask your doctor to put you on benzodiazepines such as Xanax ,Klonopin or Valium . These medications reduce your anxiety and calm you down. These can be addictive so be carefull!

I do NOT think medication is safe .
But drugs are unsafe as well. At least with prescribed drugs/medication you wont be braking any laws.

Good luck.

I would suggest against abusing marijuana. It is better in moderation( I know first hand). The only thing abusing it does is cause tolerance. I really only smoke it or eat a brownie when I need to. I maybe use it once or twice a week. A half ounce will last me for six months or more. If you get a good Sativa strain( I personally like Cinderella-99), it will help with depression and actually make your view on life MUCH better, but dont over do it. One or two small puffs off a pipe of this stuff is good enough for me. When I use it, it peps me up, gives me energy and I think it is the best anti-depressant there is. The effects of it last for about 4 hours and the comedown is great too( best nights sleep of your life). The next day, you just feel so calm and relaxed, like nothing could go wrong. No nervous or up tight feelings. I actually think this stuff helped me quit drinking like I used to( before I found this stuff, I was drinking a 36 pack a night). It made the last holiday season a pleasure to get through( usually a load of crap for me). Anyways, my point is, use it, don't abuse it.

Before you start smoking weed, I want you to hear this:

People nowadays are in the habit of stigmatizing you for having used drugs. They'll try to blame all your problems on your drug use (really, that creates problems) and you could find yourself overwhelmed by people who just don't know how to be nice.

When people talk about 'highs,' they make it sound like a wonderland, like an indescribable pleasure. No drug I have ever used has given me that feeling, not even cocaine.

I first smoked marijuana at age 19, and while it was very cool and interesting, I also felt anxious, like my heart was beating at 200 bpm (though I decided that this was not the case). I played with my fingers a lot.

Now I deal with a perceptual problem in which I see lines on objects disappear. It's not very pleasant. I also tend to be forgetful at times.

I'm not going to tell you to say 'no,' but I do want you to consider the risks.

You can get it, BUT: This depends on the drug, the amount and the way of administration of the drug. There is also an other danger: The more pleasurable the effect of the drug, the more like is it to develop a serious addiction. Drugs which provide you with very strong positive feelings must be handled with extra care and "respect".

DO NOT: smoke weed as a means of self medicating, to improve, or to correct something. NEVER. ever.

DO: smoke weed to enjoy yourself, to take a deep breath, and sink into the couch. compare it to alcohol

alcohol is recreational, using it as some sort of personality adjustment will only land you in deep deep s**t
