Indeed. Meeting difficult issues with the skewing of the meanings of words and phrases is a very functional tactic around the slow-minded majority.
I'm at -10, now. I want to die. I just have nothing to live for.
That is how I usually feel......but for better or worse I found something I freaking enjoy the hell out of but I still feel I don't have much to lose so that is part of it. I mean I could be arrested if I start going down to Denver to protest more but what are they going to do? there is nothing they can really take from me anymore.
glad you are enjoying yourself, but I don't really see any value in these protests.

The point is to bring attention to some of the problems going on in the world...and to the fact that people are not happy with the way things are going. I've been unhappy with society and the economic/political system for quite some time and I feel its about time people made a stand so damn right I'm going to want to get involved with it.
Ultimately, these protests are a reaction to the affects caused by the economy's dependence on finite energy sources that are now entering terminal decline (At least, the US's share of those energy sources are either plateauing or declining.).

Yeah, that is a large part of it.

-5, just remembered my family is going to complain about me not going to their stupid thanksgiving dinner. But I honestly don't feel like I can handle it so I'm not going...I'll just end up sitting in the corner being misrable, and going out side once or twice for a ciggerette because I don't have anything in common with most of them.

my ex in-laws love me again, my sister and i reached a compromise about our mother's estate, the hair on my head isn't falling out anymore, and bucephalus brings the awesome. clinical depression and severe anxiety are keeping me from truly feeling as good as i should right now, but i think my new meds will start working soon.

They haven't really done anything, the only results I have seen is a bunch of people getting together with out any organization or idea of what their group is trying to achieve.

Well it's not a political party....it's a protest, basically many people are fed up with the way huge corporations think they can do whatever they want including buy our politicians and would like to let them know. Thing is though is there is not about one specific problem its about a whole mass of problems that need to be addressed.......It is a group of individuals coming together in an effort to peacefully take our country back(I'm in the U.S so a lot of focus is on problems specific to here, but just so its clear I know this is going on in other countries as well for simular reasons but obviously there are variations depending on the specific problems in each country the occupy movement exists in.
As for accomplishing specific things it is possible to disrupt the order of things.....for instance at the march I went to we slowed the Buses and Lightrail down, sure there are some downsides to that but things like that can make people stop to think about it and why so many people would bother to do such a thing. But I am not going to try and convince everyone they should agree with me or that I am right......because its not about being right or wrong its about being fed up and making a stand by peacefully assembling.
and before the march some of us where just standing where the cars driving by could see us with signs and we even had a couple of the Bus drivers honk at us in support along with at least half of the cars that drove by. Though I heard the cops where trying to give people tickets for honking because they dug up some BS city law.

Well its not really getting much done, and people are looking at them as stupid for not knowing what exactly they are protesting. Listen to some radio and the response from the general public isn't very good. Most people don't like it, I'm not saying there aren't problems but that isn't helping.

Well what should it be getting done?.....I mean there is only so much a protest can accomplish, the main thing is to try and get more support and bring attention to the problems in society and in the economic/political system. So far it seems to be doing just that regardless of all the haters......People can look at us as stupid all they want but last I checked I'm not stupid so there is that.
What do you think would help more?
