I understood the joke. :D

Thanks. Not everyone is familiar with Leonard Cohen's works.

(And someone mentioned Rammstein. So I will repeat my humourous observation that the opening of Rammstein's cover of Depeche Mode's "Stripped" sounds like The Cookie Monster reading Leonard Cohen.)

Come with me
Into the trees
We'll lay on the grass
And eat all the cookies

Whenever I was really depressed in high school (suicidal depressed) I started listening to Weezer. I wouldn't say that they changed my outlook on life, but ...well since I've been drinking, yeah, I'll say Weezer changed my outlook on life. Just letting things go became alot easier. Sweater song, buddy holly, hash pipe. Right now I should be singing 'say it aint so' because i feel like a drunk like my dad. I'm so bad about turning others' posts into my own. I'm sorry. What a bad post.

you're MY LADYYYY OF THE MORRNINGGGGG... just a tribute to kilroy, I think he's the one I've seen talking about styx everywhere I look :D that's what comes to mind when I think of styx.

I'm interested as well.

Regardless of what was said in the other thread, or how people reacted, I've found people here rarely hold grudges. If you want to talk about something, be it why you feel poorly, why you hate your life, or even why 2 + 2 is 4 (ok, that was a bit silly), please understand that there are people here that are interested in listening, some of which might have positive words that could help you out, others, maybe even good advice.

At the very least, there are people willing (and probably even wanting) to listen if you want to talk.

I am sorry about that. I react quickly without thinking things through and, although I can't speak for everyone else in tht thread, I don't hate you or dislike you. I think we misunderstood your intentions as you came across as aggressive at the time. You're not hated by everyone though.
I have no friends either, so I can relate to that. You can talk to people on here though. It mgiht not have stated off well, but like Shadexiii said, people here don't tend to hold grudges, we all make mistakes (especially being Aspies :) ).
You can always talk on here anyway.

Not the end of the world.

Never heard that before, so I can't really say I know what it means. :?

Give it time, you will likely find some here.
aspie17 wrote:

Just take it slow. It may not come naturally, or easily, but it can be learned...at least to some degree that others will consider "functioning." I'm still pretty clueless to a lot of things, but I've managed some progress over the years. I always hated "have patience" as advice, but at times that's the best advice to give. That, and don't give up.
aspie17 wrote:

If we all hated you, nobody would have expressed concern for how you are doing. :P
aspie17 wrote:

Again, give it time. And at least for here, don't worry about it. Believe it or not, you type far better than some of the examples I've seen here (and elsewhere) in the past. :P

Don't give up hope. I know, "think positive" is one of the most irritating pieces of advice to get, b because at times it is incredibly hard to see any hope or any chance for change, but there's always the chance that things can improve.

I'm afraid I really don't understand what you mean by that. :? If it has to do with the other thread, about the responses, like I said, people can have a change of heart. Try to give them some time.

Hopefully I didn't sound too much like a broken record.

I think he's referring to the reaction of everyone in the other thread. He feels he was being mocked etc by 'take the piss'.

Well, some people reacted (or even overreacted) a bit aggressively (myself included), but I think that has stopped.

Me too, I said some things I probably shouldn't have done. But I don't feel that way now.
