The woman was 6'2" and said "oh I didn't think a man would ever get with a woman as tall as you" at the park. I kind of laughed it off but I realise she meant it as an insult.

I get insults all the time and comments and random people wanting pics next to a "giant" but you think other tall women would be compassionate not insult you just because i have pretty much an extra 2 inches on them.

I suspect she didn't deliberately intend an insult, as I can't imagine a reason why she would do so.
I think maybe she herself has had trouble with men, that she had attributed to her height, and in her mind being taller would only make it worse, so she was speaking her thoughts without consideration for your feelings.
Certainly an insensitive and stupid thing to say, but obviously she's dead wrong anyway :wink:
