if it were me, i'd try the antifungal cream first. if the area got worse on the cream or didn't improve in a couple of weeks, i'd see a doc. lotrimin or nizoral.

It changes from minute to minute. Never above about a 4, though. And never below about a minus-2.

No need for an expensive hospital visit nor to waste medical resources if you Know that it’s wingworm.

Ring worm (not a worm, btw, it’s a very common fungal infection) may eventually go away on its own after several months but can become chronic. The other risk is of secondary bacterial infections taking hold due to weak and broken skin. Then you could also require antibiotics to deal with compounding medical problems.

It’ll heal in 2-4 weeks with OTC treatment. Clotrimazole lotion (same active ingredient as Lotrimin), which is $15cdn a tube here, is only $1.29usd at Rite Aid & Buy Rite in Washington state. Likely the same in Oregon and you may only need a couple tubes.

This uncomfortable, highly contagious, problem can be resolved for less than $5 and a little persistence in applying lotion regularly. Well worth a walk/bus trip to a pharmacy for a couple tubes of lotion. Best of luck in healing up in a short couple weeks, sly!

Oh-for-sure!

Life is drastically less stressful being in the black! Debt obligations rob of us of our present moment as we think about payments, work required, timelines etc etc. Not fun stuff. I know because I lived in debt for more than a decade. But now I know different & better annnnd I want that for others, so, I wish ya well on climbing out of that hole asap and then breathing easier!

The day you’re in the black, have yourself a small freedom from debt slavery celebration. (Just don’t spend too much money on it! Heh) like even just go have yourself a pint of your favourite brew and taste that debt free beer - even the simple things are better knowing they’re debt-stress free! 8)

Maybe a 5. I'm starting to get a caffeine withdrawal headache. I want to make a cup of coffee but I haven't taken my daily hour long walk yet. I refrain from drinking coffee before my walk since its diuretic properties can make for a less than enjoyable walk

I'm overstimulated by a day in town near too many people and from hearing too much insipid nattering talking.
I need to peel off my senses.

Still waiting to hear back about the results of the ultrasound of the lump on my neck. I'm a bit irritated at having to wait and a bit eager to know what it is (and then do tons of research on it, assuming it isn't just something random my body decided to do for no reason whatsoever -which, it being me, it probably is  ), so it pretty much balances out to neutral. I found another, smaller lump a bit below and to the side of the first today - checked the other side, and there's no lump in that place, either. I'm guessing it's just another lymph node in the vicinity that's swollen for the same reason as the others that make up the first lump (I can feel at least 2 parts to that one, and my doctor said it was a cluster of lymph nodes). The ones just below my chin, which are the ones that typically get swollen if I have some kind of infection, still seem perfectly normal, and aside from my chronic sinus issues and a mild cold I developed a little over a week after I noticed the first lump, I don't have any signs of an infection of any sort. So I really don't know what the reason for this is.
