Kk: Flu vaccine. Had mine for the first time ever yesterday too, as it’s required to work in certain areas of the BC Children’s Hospital (requires by everyone, doctors, nurses, janitors, construction workers etc.) and I want to work there w/o having to wear a mask all the time.

The administering nurse said they formulate it based on the three most popular strains of flu in the Southern Hemisphere as the flu tends to move around the world in circular cycles. Then they analyze the strains that made people sick in the North and make a vaccine for the top 3 for the South, rinse & repeat.

I’m lucky needles have never bothered me at all and I can watch while they draw blood every few months etc. Poking needles in others doesn’t bother me at all either. Heck, I took my 16yo god daughter to get her nose pierced like her mom’s for her 16th bday present yesterday and watched that lol.

7. Slept in until noon, feeling rested. :)

Needles make me anxious so bad night.
And states cutting my sisters hours by 20 so she’s freaking out.

Glad you went to a doctor, good effort. One thing at a time eh.

Despite treatment, antibiotics, rest, home vet visits, and all the care I can provide, my dear old cat is getting worse. He is inactive, hiding, frightened even of me and my handling him - which is indicative of him being in pain. He is afraid and insists at night on sleeping inside his carrier box, he pulls the door shut to barricade himself in.

I can still get him to eat a bit though it is obvious this is a struggle for him.

Tomorrow will be Monday here and I will seek a new opinion from another vet and request testing of his pancreatic
enzymes.

I can stand being in pain - I'm used to it and I have effective pain relief for the worst of it - but I can't stand my beloved pets being in this state, it devastates me. I think he may be dying. He has had a hard life until he came to me as a stray rescue four years ago. He made huge progress over those years, and his lovely nature fully emerged.

I feel beset, distressed, anxious and worried for him. Not sure he is going to make it.

What’s “glue vaccine,” Sly. Glad you went to the doctor. Hopefully, the skin thing will be gone soon.

Flue vaccine
I hope so too

I feel like a piece of s***t.
Like no one cares.

And my boyfriend is so far away that I can't stay with him. He's a truck driver. Plus, I'm pregnant, and apparently it's bad to stay on a truck like this.
But, I really hate where I am at.
Considering going to inpatient again because of bad thoughts and reactions.
I never want to come back where I am currently.
I'm this close to getting an apartment but so close to utterly losing my mind.

Learning that your detractors, especially if they are Bible Belt supporters and think Trump is God's mouthpiece, are getting married and having children while you can't even get a coffee date is the worst thing in the world.

Solid 8.5.. approaching 9 territory. 8)

It's so serene & peaceful here in my "Winter home," (Year 3!) at the end of a quiet street with only the sounds of a creek running through the ravine next door.. and the pleasant sights of original paintings hanging all over the walls. Coffee is hot, gluten free banana hempseed flax pancakes topped with real better & blueberry syrup taste fantastic alongside some mild italian sausages and a fried egg. The sun is shining warm on my face & chest through the blinds on the kitchen window. Dinner/lunch for tmw are cooked, laundry is done, place is clean. I'm gonna head out to get my phone repaired and then off to the beach to see who's there from the regular crew for Sunset & a nice warm bonfire!

That sounds so nice, Goldfish. I love Vancouver although I'm sure you're out of the city somewhere.

I saw a young gothic girl kissing her boyfriend. Why can't I get a kiss for a change? :(

You will one day Markins. It all takes time, that's all. You need to meet someone who you feel like and they need to like you as well. There's someone out there for everyone.

My day has been a +10.

How’s the medication working, Sly?

Most medications have potential side effects. But they are mostly quite rare.

It IS so nice! And Nope! I'm even closer to the city. I just happen to be in a VERY quiet neighbourhood of single family homes on the South Slope of Burnaby.

I live in the suburbs (South Surrey), East of the Fraser River, about 10 miles North of the US border (Washington State), but for the Winter I stay at my Aunt's in South Burnaby a mile or so from Metrotown. I'm a 5min drive from Boundary Road, which is where Vancouver begins. It's also 1/2 the distance & driving time to the beach! Annnnnd way closer to where I'm working at BC Children's Hospital so I only have a 20min drive to work in the morning! 8) (and free parking a few blocks away! Score! :D) I'm closer to friends in the city, a couple parties I'll go to this Winter, major shopping centres, work - everything! It's a total win for me staying here for the Winters.. but also a win for my Aunt & her bf, because they like that the house isn't empty while they're off to Palm Springs doing the snowbird thing for the Winter with my other Aunt and her bf. I keep the plants watered and place clean and secure so they don't have to worry about break-ins etc. Pretty good win-win scenario for all involved. 8)

Reminds me of some articles I've read about people travelling the world being house sitters and staying for months at a time in mansions & villas for free. Makes me think I might just do that someday, even if I could afford to splash out the cash for accommodations, why bother if you can extend your trip and stay for free??
