The sad thing is, you'd think aspies and other autistics would be the first to empathize with oppressed groups, since we are subject to mistreatment ourselves from the larger society.

Religion and politics is one of the strongest topics for anyone. I avoid it like plague. Plus I find those topics boring anyway.

If you find yourself getting heated up because you can't take that people don't agree with you, step out of that thread and never turn back.

Who were the other two members who also left?

One of them was i_wanna_blue.

He had a blog about it but decided to take it off for some reason.

I didn't know i_wanna_blue left. The other one I know to have left over something in PPR was BigK. Looking at the last posts he made, I'm not sure that i_wanna_blue left over something that happened in PPR.

He left feeling like the community was being hateful to his religion, Islam. I personally think all religions will be debated and hated no matter what. I'm not sure though what else went on. I think he told me he was also getting hateful PMs as well.

Oh and if I remember correctly on 9/11 day, we had a member saying hateful things about muslims in general and how they deserve to die. Frankly I don't blame him. This guy is still posting on PPR but I'm not sure how much he means what he says.

You are talking about Ruveyn. He is angry about 9/11 and could of lost family members on that day. I didn't interpret Ruveyn's thread as saying all Muslims deserve to die, just an expression of the anger he felt about 9/11. I'm sorry i_wanna_blue felt that way.

No but he was being pretty hateful about it. But like I said, you're going to get a lot of extreme opinions especially when it comes to both religion and politics. I'm also sorry he left because of this but maybe it's for the best. I use to be the same way about a lot of stuff and still am to a certain extent. The world isn't fair and you just have to learn to filter out some of it while using the tools you've accumulated through experience and knowledge when it comes to fighting fire with fire. Doesn't always work but it certainly helps get your point across without coming off negative or angry.

an expression of anger on WP should not include the wish for annihilation of all of the members of a religion. he took his "feelings" too far. if you consider his thread in the context of his other posts, it is not a stretch to think he believes all muslims should die. a muslim would have good reason to feel attacked by that post.

Didn't richardbenson make a thread asking where that user went? I recall he did because he made a thread asking where this one user is because he hadn't been here in a while. I would have to look again when I can be arsed to do research.

Jono, he blogged why he felt it was necessary to leave. IIRC it did involve both attacks on his muslim faith on WP, as well as his feeling that he was not being a good model of the faith in order to promote understanding.

It appears to be gone. I looked through his posts trying to find that thread and couldn't. Or was it 0_equels_true he was talking about? I get members mixed up all the time.

Just as an aside, it's not really fair to blame the incident that sparked this thread on the PPR forum; a possible sockpuppet poster made a very specific personal attack targeted at the in a OP in a completely unrelated thread, that it happened in PPR seems entirely incidental.

When the original poster writes, " when bigots are allowed to say what ever they wish with no consequences, its seem PPR is over run with Raciest, Bigots and Religious morons" is she refering to herself when she uses the term Bigot due to her opinion of the intellect of those who belive in God?

This thread really should have been left to die. :|
