He simply asked, whats wrong with that? Pray to who you want. Noone was expecting you to do what you don't want to do. This was so not about you. Get over yourself.

Wow, how teenage melodramatic of you. "This was so not about you." Do you actually hear yourself saying that in your head? Does it sound natural? God, I hope not. And to get back to the main point, I don't pray to anyone. Praying is religious. I am against religion. This is why. Every time something like this happens, religion becomes this amazing thing. People flock to it like the sheep they are, and the sane ones like me are shot down when we mention that it's all a load of ****. There is a lot wrong with asking me to pray to someone. It makes me stick out like a sore thumb if I don't. Like I am less human or something. I for one do not mind it and set that precedent long ago, but many may disagree with it. You religious types are all the same. You grasp onto tragedy, gloat in your invincibility, and get people to stay around until next death comes. You ride a constant wave of being untouchable in the light of a tragedy, because there's always a tragedy going on. So we can never attempt to question religion in some great time of need for someone. I'm sick of it all. Opium of the masses.

I don't recall him specifically asking you to pray for him. Anyone can post here, they shouldn't be attacked. Which is exactly what happened here. There are contacts here from all different walks of life, and we should be respectful of that. They should be able to post what they want, and if they ask for prayer....so what. I don't attact the atheist or those who practice wicca when they post. I don't, because I AM SECURE in my belief, so I don't feel I need to. And before you point your finger at Christians, ask yourself...what better do you have to offer. I personally see an angry person and I don't want that for me. Now do you feel Christians should not be allowed to post here. Because from what I've seen this past month, it seems to me some of you do. In that case, take it up with Alex, tell him not to allow religion here because it bugs you. I bet he won't agree. But we are here, Alex says we can be. I don't get your problem. And by the way....do you go after other people of faith? Or is it just those who believe in God?

I go after people of all faiths(except the eastern religions, which I view as more of a philosophy). And moreover, you don't want me posting here, but say that others should be able to post what they want. And I am angry because of numerous other circumstances. You are being blatantly narrow minded in seeing me as the only messenger of atheism. As for what better I have to offer? The truth. I offer a sad message that most people dislike. You believe in god because you want to. Your life must be miserable, and you would like something greater beyond the grave. For that, I pity you.

How about we each say a prayer to our own Special God and make this a better, more peaceful world to live in. :ninja: :D

What if we all had no god? That would stop all this jihad stuff, and make the world an even more peaceful place.

Then we are at an agreement on numerous issues. The only one left out seems to be Paula.

Then don't get offended when someone asks for prayer. I am actually quit content with my life, thankyou, and don't feel miserable. Thats why I don't get why you got all upset over someone asking for prayer. Why would you care? My dad happens to be athiest, and he dosn't get all upset over me. And when I visit my parents, my mom insist I say blessing over dinner, my dad don't care. He thinks it silly, but my mom insist, so he don't care. I've never asked nor have I ever offered to pray the blessing over dinner. Growing up my mom had us recite a prayer, but when we got older we stopped doing it altogether, I don't know why, we just did. Jaguarsfan asked for prayer, and you go nuts? I will never get why you would make a big deal out of it. I don't go on people's thread who posts stuff that anti my faith, why would I? Thats their thing. You were looking for a debate, plain and simple. This was Jaquars thread, why pick at him? So only people who practice Eastern Religions won't get picked at by you???? Interesting, You get to call the shots on who can post without a problem from you and who can't. I think you do believe in a higher power, you won't admit it....fine, but I think you do, otherwise you wouldn't care. At least thats what my dad days.

Wow, you look like you're trying to stop the arguement and then pull out something like "I think you do believe in a higher power". You believe what your mind needs you to believe in order to get you through the day. And since we're making blatantly illogical jumps as to what others think, I think your life is miserable. You are living on a wobbly scaffolding of lies which could come crashing down at any time. You believe in god because he is a pillar that is harder to knock down. And I care because you christian types have been constantly badgering me and ignoring me because of my lack of faith. I have gotten pissed. I get pissed that you try to destroy the rights of certain people to marry. I get pissed that you put god into schools. I get pissed that you attempted to close businesses and mail and everything else on Sunday because of what you believe. That's why I care.

Gee I did all that? WOW!! !! ! Reality then...if a person of faith posts anything on this website except for eastern religious people you will go after them. You aren't going to convert me, yet you try so hard to. So silly. I'm 45 years old, been a Christian since High School. My life has not crashed down. Maybe being relaxed and content with my life is the reason I don't feel the need to get all upset with people of opposite beliefs then me. I get along by the way with people of different types of lifestyles and faiths, do I stand up for my beliefs??? Yes I do. And by the way, people I know who practice eastern religions, DO NOT VIEW THEIR FAITH as merly a philosphy. And would be very offended if I viewed their beliefs that way. I guess with people, I have learned to agree to disagree, and we get along. I refuse to stress what I cannot change. The bible says to pray for those who persecute you, and to love your enemies, I suppose I have enemies somewhere. I guess cause I don't look for trouble, I can't say I have any. But I am a women of faith, and I believe in prayer. And will not insult others who's faith is different than mine. Why should I, why would I need to?

It sounds like you people have all admitted Squiggy into your hearts without even realizing it.

All hail the Dark Lord! May he devour us all!

Not with those kind of vaguaries, no. Prayer with ignorance is very reflective of religion.
