You like the libertarian philosophy Ron P. advocates? And yeah, I think the 1% certainly unduly influences the game, including the 'money primary' which determines who are and are not the 'serious' candidates. And hey, I kind of got the idea earlier on that you were British when you referred to your 'mates.' It's okay, we certainly can use other people interested in our politics and can learn from what they do in the UK, Australia, etc. Just as other people can learn from us. (For example, I think the U.S. was one of the first countries to come up with earned income credit, since copied by some other countries)

What do you think of pro-Spectrum activism?

I actually live in Florida unfortunately but I like the word "mate" so I use it a bit :P

Nothing against people that advocate it ..but I mean shouldn't people just know these kind of things already? I probably know every psychological disorder out there. I just don't understand why I should try to spread awareness to nimrods who even if they did happen to learn about it would not give a s**t anyway & still treat us like we're freaks. There egos are inflated and I do not want to associate with closed minds.

I kind of agree with you there, that is why I don't participate in such activism, but I certainly have nothing against people who do.

Some people were meant to protest/advocate and some were meant to get out there and make things happen versus asking. Sounds like you are a maker.

To many people want to argue with emotion and i always try to reduce everything to the lowest common denominator with facts or quantifying my feelings. Kind of wish half the people would do that. We would have a much better world.

INTP, huh? I'm your counterpart, ISTP. I remember it was hilarious, I was reading ISTP scores to Simon Baron Cohen's silly empathy quiz, and ISTPs scored abysmally low compared to the other personality types. I scored like 16 on mine, and that seemed about average, lot of like "8" scores, too. Based on the scores on SBC's test, the ISTPs seem to be more emotionally stupid compared to the INTPs, haha.

I really do get the whole like "not expressing feelings" thing. For me it can just be like "what feelings? huh?" I think one advantage the ISTP has, though, is we tend to wanna like, make...stuff. For me, probably a lot of what makes me feel better is...stuff. I've always had mechanical hobbies and stuff, now one of them is cars, if you don't have to work on your daily driver, it's actually quite a fun hobby if it's not your daily driver. If you got an unreliable "project car" daily driver, you'll hate your life and wanna die, but for me, just working on "stuff," machines, they're so much more easy to understand than people. If you can find some more hobbies so you can make something to take pride in, that helped me. Someone in the world has to make and do stuff, afterall, the whole entire world cannot just socialize and be friends, and unfortunately for us, it's our job as INTPs and ISTPs, it's our place in the world I guess.

As far as relationships, though, no real advice. 21 and not had a girlfriend ever, same sorta thing (actually expelled) with high school, actually, got my GED at 17. Not in college, don't plan on it really either. I just try not to worry about the "companion" thing anymore, and just fill that void with "stuff." I hope God helps me one day somehow, but right now, as it stands, maybe I'll be some 50 year old dude with a beard on Speed Channel assembling small block Chevies. Who knows.

As far as staying in the house. Meh. My last "I wanna stay in my room" period was in middle school, so yeah. I actually find going outside to be a better escape most of the time than staying in my house. The people in my house tend to remind me more of my difficulties and failures than trees and lakes do. For me just going out on walks and bike rides alone was great. Generally wherever you live there's little hiking trails around, those are fun, and usually no people are on them. That was my easiest way to get out of the house, and it's quite healthy to hike and whatnot. Another odd place that was like, a special place to me, Asian market. For some reason, I felt at peace there, none of the Asians were gonna like, make fun of me or anything, I'd a lot of times just go there when I felt bad, I'd ride my bike to my local Asian store in the next town 3 miles almost everyday, usually just to pick up a soda for like 75c, I got a lot of enjoyment out of that.

Might be completely not your taste in music, but here. I like that song a lot. Music like that helped me through my darkest times in life. Even without other people, it really is still, a beautiful life.

I kind of like some British expressions, too. :jocolor:

Interest in activism or not, that might be an area where we disagree. I guess I have an evangelical twinge, even though I am happily agnostic!

You know, I never really thought of myself as smart. I just thought of other people as appalling stupid. Now more think of them as uncurious, un-alert, half asleep, as amazingly accepting of the status quo. A number of years ago, I came up with the idea of people who are "predatorial goody two-shoes." You see, it's not enough that they fit in and like things the way they are, they have to be contemptful of those who don't. Funny world (and infuriating)

Wow, that's weird how did you know I was an INTP lol? I guess you could guess from me describing myself probably...I have the book & did an online test about it. Yeah I've only had one girlfriend before & I broke up with her because she was getting so clingy...yeah, dude nice to hear you are doing what you're passionate about, keep it up.

I'm going to try & fight for awhile, who knows what will happen at college...just another journey.

Its hard for me to get emotionally involved with others, but I still cry alot. Just feels good to let that tension out sometimes, lately been crying in public which is weird, but idc. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with the human race..like I pity them & at the same time feel sorry for them...I mean we're all going through this thing together w/o a clue why or what we're here for...

I mean we can say, "well I'm here to do this & this & that" but at the end of the day these are just distractions from the big picture...not to say we shouldn't do anything & just philosophize about the world all the time..although that would be fine with me lol. while we're here we follow our passions but we don't know why we're here...that's why I can't condemn Hitler for killing the Jews because he really thought he was doing the world good by his deeds, now I see what he did as disgusting obviously, but I will not put him down because from his perspective he was doing what he believed was "right".

Here's my INTP scores!@

Yeah, its so hard to find people that you can actually hold a meaningful conversation with these days...funny thing is when I do have a good convo its usually with another aspie lol. I mean I talk to NT's but alot of times they just always seem to be more interested in the party last week or how they are going to receive a BJ from their gf later. haha...whereas I'd like to talk about the world around us & what's happening in it.

yeah, being charitable, I guess NT's are better are stuff heavy on context. And I guess focusing on one's personal life (pretty much to the exclusion of everything else) does help with practical, everyday, etc, etc. But we sure miss a lot of juicy intellectual conversation! :king:

The 1% are also the people who close factories and send thousands of jobs overseas. So, they are both job creators and job destroyers. Catering to their every whim because they are "job creators" is just a clever ploy they've come up with.

Also, small business makes up a lot of employment in the USA, though I can't recall the number off the top of my head.

Don't commit suicide. Suicide is the easy way but If you put up everything that you go through for a little longer, things will get better. Then you can look back and be proud because you made it through the hard times. Hope you're ok. There're people here would be happy to talk to you and listen to you. Keep strong and lots of hugs! :)

Yeah, that's why I love & hate having aspergers, a precious gift & a damned curse! I am great at describing ideas & concepts to people even if I do come off aloof or "weird". I've learned to let go of what others thing of me, I feel sorta like a free spirit nowadays compared to the past when I had aspergers & SAD, but now I realize it was just my ego fooling me, noone cares either way.

When I became depressed and thought about committing suicide I started to listen to more music to express my feelings and help me cope. I like punk rock because it shows a lot of emotion. My favorite punk rock band is Alkaline Trio. Sometimes when I'm on the verge of snapping music calms me down. Playing Grand Theft Auto also helps to calm me down when I'm angry at the world. Don't commit suicide, it's not worth it. There are plenty of ways out there to help you release your negative emotions. You don't have to commit suicide or inflict damage on yourself.

I feel I'm pretty good at describing ideas and concepts, too. Many NT's can be interested for a while and then all of a sudden it seems like they've reached their maximum capacity.

I've tried my hand at screenwriting, which is a long shot, and they typically change your stuff.

Songwriting might be a better bet, although still a long shot, can end up being your song as you want it.

I taught math for one year. I've thought about teaching science.

In a speech Temple Grandin said there were three kinds of autistic persons:

people who think in pictures like her,

people good at math, kind of the classic nerd, and

people good at social studies, for example, people who really like history.

I'm kind of midway between these last two. I can be good at math if I really put the time into it and change it into a story.

(This part starts 21:09 into it.)

I think in pictures usually & I despise math, but I like reading about history because it shows us how humans have always acted the same way.
