Now, for me personally, I like to read a little, walk a little, maybe even write a little when I first wake up.

If I had to go somewhere right away, I might not be 'centered,' calm, alert.

Now, that's just me. Other people might feel different in the morning.

First off, good luck on your test. :D

And then, a lot of people run before work or do another kind of exercise and I think morning exercise is a good thing. Maybe you could get a second pair of tennis shoes, and one pair could be your outside running pair?

I kind of believe in taking and accepting an existing system and building on it. Okay, so you typically don't eat breakfast, maybe not the healthiest thing, but a number of people do the same thing. Maybe you could keep energy bars or an apple or another snack in your backpack? (and check the labels on energy bars because some are healthy and some aren't)

And maybe keep an old towel on the floor of the car to quickly wipe off your shoes?

Maybe you could try and run one or two sack lunches ahead of the curve. That is, have two sack lunches sitting in the refrigerator waiting for you? And that way, maybe in the typical busy morning, maybe your parent could just grab one for you?

I myself sometimes either bail on planning or overplan. I'm getting better on finding that happy medium more often, and it does not need to be 100%.

Maybe doing something earlier in the class, to increase your odds and percentages, that you'll just kind of allow the bad stress to be deflected to one side.

So, maybe sit in the back or the side where you might feel less distracted?

And here's one technique I use: During lectures I can take pretty much continuous notes with gaps and missed parts where I just jump ahead to what the teacher is saying right now, I give myself permission to be sloppy. The point of these notes is for me to stay alert. I sometimes later go back and draw boxes around the more important things. But frankly, I do most of my studying from the book (and some pre-studying). So, yes, I could probably improve on the note taking.

And maybe relaxation breathing techniques, lightly done, and again you try more on the early side as you are beginning to get stressed or when you are medium stressed, that kind of thing. (And I think these techniques by their very nature are imprecise, nonperfect techniques and work better because they are imprecise and nonperfect.)

And the other part is damage control. That if you do need to walk out, maybe the bench in building C just to pick a random example. So, you can pace the hall and chill out on the bench. That way, the teacher and/or other school authorities know where you are and do not need to worry.

Okay, what if you, say, wake up 20 minutes earlier and use 15 minutes for more running and 5 minutes for organizational tasks and/or quick studying?
