Please help - I'm getting kicked out of the house...
Asians have it bad in this department, AS or no AS.. thats for sure.
Glad you managed to patch things up, it's never a fun experience to be at odds with the one who pays for things around the house!
Ask me how I know...
Although I am torn between which is the better situation- you have a serious opportunity if your parents planned for you to go to MIT and are willing to pay. 60k a year!
My parents aren't paying for anything and are expecting me to move out asap, but they don't get involved at all. They do drop nasty little hints however..
If you can slingshot through this and come out the other side then take advantage of that, do what you have to do to make them happy, cook them breakfast. Who cares? Make that your "Job" and have a backup plan so they can't hold you over the fire like that! That's my plan of action as it stands..
A tip I would give you- don't take this whole charade too seriously, they do care about you and they are just pushing you to succeed- although it does seem a bit overkill for that crime..
Know that the world is falling apart right now, and people are still clinging to the old "get a degree" mentality. Keep at it if you can, but start adjusting how you look at it so that you don't get too stuck in the trap. Don't let them brainwash you into it like so many others- look at it for what it really is: A nice opportunity, but if the costs are too great then it is possible to find another way.
Think about that aspie-land that 2Wheels4ever mentioned. If you could ditch your parents house tomorrow and go there would you be able to operate differently? Or would that mentality stick with you..
