"If You're Reading This" by Tim McGraw... my husband's deployment was such a dark period in my life...I was constantly an anxious/worried wreck, and every time I heard this song I'd lose it. I still do. My best friend was killed in Iraq shortly after my husband came home, so that made it about 100x worse. Now I have a full-on anxiety attack whenever I hear it.

i had a good friend online. we'd exchange these long PMs with each other and we shared many things about our lives and travels, but somewhere along the way i think she lost respect for me. she became upset on the forum we both visited, and i think i was included in the general package of people she could no longer abide by. the emails abruptly stopped, and although we tried to launch it back up a couple of times, it wasn't the same. she introduced me to the Canadian band, and now i feel regret and sadness when i listen to them:

"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. Makes me think of numerous people I've lost over the years. In particular, it makes me think of my father's alcoholism and death.

"Friends" by Ryan Adams. (Ryan Adams, not Bryan Adams, lol). Makes me think of an ex-boyfriend I still care about and always will.

No song makes me feel sad but there are songs that remind me of movies I watched and enjoyed, such as Rockin In The Free World which was in the closing credits of Fahrenheit 911.

To the person who posted the song hurt sung by Johnny Cash, do you feel that emotion when you just hear the cover or also the original?

thank you for sharing that, puddingmouse, and FalsettoTesla, and blueroses.

i understand what you mean, thewrll - not everyone feels sad from songs. do you have any songs that make you angry or any other strong emotion? or do you find that you don't connect emotions to music at all?

I find music calms me. If I am angry I turn on music and no matter what it is I feel instant peace. I just haven't had that hard a life so I can't feel what others feel with music.

I really wish I could say the same. For All the songs that remind me of such great heights their are others that can take me so low.

i have all different reactions to different songs, some calming and some hit me like a punch in the stomach. others are uplifting. this one makes me sad. someone told me it reminds them of me. now that the relationship is long gone, i can't really listen to it. the song is actually from 1998, but until recently there wasn't really a link on youtube.

this song is very impressive as far as i am concerned.
it is called "take me to the pilot (of your soul)"

this is i think his debut appearance before a sizable audience and broadcasting cameras.

it is very talented indeed and i wish if i was without any concern, that i could compose to approximate the quality of songs like this

i have a very wide appreciation of music, and this song is timeless and eternal.
it makes me think about death, and it is an unsettling but beautiful song. i believe it was written by frank zappa, and the manuscript was handed to stevie vai to play in the event of his (zappa's) death.

I have trouble with Falling In Love by NOFX, and I Miss You by Incubus.
