I CAnt Take this!
Misunderstandings and conflicts happen.
But bear in mind that anxiety very often exists on BOTH sides.
NTs get freaked out by Aspies just as Aspies get freaked out by NTs. Adopting a "victim" mentality doesn't help, particularly if you ignore the fact that they're probably just as confused and scared (and possibly angry) as you are.
Stamping your feet shouting "I'm an Aspie, you unsympathetic NTs all need to change!" is no more valid than an NT shouting "You're all Aspie freaks and you must change!". It's two sides of the same coin.
I agree that people should all act with kindness and sympathy and intelligence 24 hours a day. That's a nice vision of an ideal world but unfortunately reality doesn't always work like that, particularly when people are stressed and panicky. I don't think we can demand that everyone makes massive allowances for us while we reserve the right to act as we please just because we're Aspies. That's a very self-centered and unbalanced attitude. When people react badly, give them a chance. Think about WHY they might have reacted in the way they have, and why your actions may have been misinterpreted, before leaping in to damn them and claim full self-righteous victim status.
I sympathise with Graelwyn but I don't think it's right to assume that everyone is treating you badly on purpose, unless you know beyond reasonable doubt (to use a legal term) that it is indeed the case. To automatically believe so without proper justification is to be paranoid.

Fair enough, but it's the NTs who started it! If they didn't pick on us, if they didn't institutionalise us in the past, if they didn't act like autism is some kind of horrible disease that needs to be cured immedietely, if they didn't go around saying that we're a threat to them and we need to be sent to concentation camps we wouldn't want to get back at them! I'm not saying we should punish all NTs, just the ones who have hurt us!
