Essentially the NT world is made up various social rules specific to the region/culture. Even NTs who break these rules/social norms are subject to ostracism.

Why do NTs do this? I think it's for building social cohesion. We learn from a young age to conform to social norms and we assimilate these from peers/watch our parents. Even moving from another culture people acculturate.

For an autistic person it's like the latter, acculturation to conform to social norms of the place where you live.

Yes, it's to build a sense of security. Human society is very tribal. It's an evolutionary thing. Dispel fears, maintain group solidarity, persecute the out-group. All wired into our deepest centers of the brain.
