i like new years eve, mainly becuse, in denmark its the only time of year you can use fireworks legally. and i LOVE fireworks. i love the colors, i love the distant booms, i love the feeling when a big rocket makes its way onto the sky and explodes in 12 different colors. i do not, however, like fireworks wich sole purpose is to go boom. and in denmark, firecrackers of any kind is ilegal, so the ones you can get is often home made and quality is very different from cracker to cracker.

i wanna become a pyrotechnician when i grow up

I don't! Because it's possible for one day to watch all these celebrations in different countries, continents and cultures, and at least pretend we're all one.

I also love New Year's Eve. It's a chance to party, on the last night of December, with my friends, like it's 1967. :P

I like New Year's eve. I think it is a fun holiday. I get to go out to eat with the family to either a Mexican restaurant or a Chinese restaurant on New Year's eve. Sometimes I get a drink. Don't worry, I don't drive so I'm safe. Then at midnight, I watch the countdown. During the last 10 seconds, I start drawing a picture and start in 2007 and then end it in 2008. I have done that for at least 10 years. I draw and design space ships for a game that I want to make. My brother is a computer programmer so maybe this game will be reality one day. Obviously it is a space shooting game and it takes place in 3050. There hasn't been a good space game in a long time. Games like Freespace and Wing Commander. I miss those games. So yes, I love New Year's eve.

I actually love it. It's the only occasion where I don't mind being surrounded by a large crowd of drunken people.

I hate all holidays. This one I spent alone like usual the only person that even asked me if i wanted to do something was my Dad but all he wanted to do was go to the bar and get drunk and I cant stand being around him at all.

My post back there is a classic example of hypocrisy, and I apologise for this, seeing how I used New Year's Eve as a good excuse to down 4 bottles of Carlsberg. :D

To me, New Year's is a Holy Day of Obligation, so I make sure and go to church. And it's a day when my office is closed, so I can stay up playing video games or reading on New Year's Eve. And around midnight, I hear fireworks, but I ignore them. In the morning, I change the calendar. I don't have a problem with New Year's Eve. I just don't celebrate it with a party.

hate it! I dwell on my autism every year on that night more than any other.

It doesn't bother me. I never went to any parties or went out on that day. My parents never went anywhere or had big parties. Only New Year's Eve party I ever been too was the one my family threw in 1995 and it was all family. My uncles, my grandparents and us.
We did go to town to see the fireworks when I was about fourteen but I thought it was pointless to go to town and be there early before the New Year's came or there be no parking spot so we stayed home and watched from our house and avoided the hassle of waiting.
