Some jokes are, but at the end of the day it's still a joke. He apologized and obviously said it in good fun.

he may have said it in good fun, and stuck out his tongue to show he was joking, but this is a joke that most men would be highly offended at having directed toward them, especially if in a situation where they readily couldn't tell it was a joke

I really don't think it was meant to hurt anyone. I think it was just about the long hair said in fun.

I miss Spudnik's bunny, though I think it went hopping off a while ago.

Maybe it was just the "straw which broke the camel's back." I can't say I blame him for wanting to leave, either... to call this a "support site for people with Asperger's" is a friggin' joke. Ironically, the only "supportive" people on this site are NT's.

Sorry Cyber... I disagree... I think you've been sniffing the Vogan gold a bit there.. :D

I'm presuming that you're referring to Alex - insulting people?

I've never managed to be insulted by him yet... Do I have to take a number or something?

The problem is that WP is full of Aspies who have (by definition) communication difficulties. We're always reading more into other people's responses than we should but at the same time, we often put less thought into our responses than we should.

I get lots of support from WP and I hope I give at least some of that back...

and I'm not NT.

I can tell the difference between true dumb asses and fake dumb asses. I can also tell the difference between ignorance. I don't buy everything people say is part of AS.

I disagree. That is just too much of a generalisation. I myself have often been supportive and I, regretfully, have an ASD.

People with ASDs do have a tendency to say the wrong thing or be unable to read between the lines though and I don't think that is not being supportive, but it is something that has us making mistakes and good on the people who come back to say sorry in such a good spirit :D

Is he coming back?

Can you at least pass on the message that it's all ok here - and that people won't think less of him if he returns. If anything, we'll think more of him because it takes guts to return.

(hope that's not twisting his arm too much). :D

It's up to him whether he wants to come back or not, but I definitely wouldn't mind having him back either. At least HE never tried to rub gold dust into my chest unit... :D

i don't mean to be rude but were you born girl? :P

That was a stupid, petty thing to say. I would shrug and move on. An attempt at emasculation shows what an idiot he is. Meh. Flip him the bird and ignore him.
