I don't like the ways schools typically present science, which I have decided is a type of faux foundationalism.

I often do like contemporary history, say the last 50 to 100 years. And somehow, I also really enjoyed finding out in anthropology that we as humans have lived as hunters-and-gatherers almost our entire time here on Earth. Except for the last scant five thousand years (eight to ten thousand in a few limited areas).

a bit of both, maybe a little in between.

there is no "in between" when it comes to suicide.

Maybe think a little more about what you write in a thread with a title like this?

Hey, Iamsomeone can title his post however he wants to title it. And I'm glad he gave it a title which got my attention.

I myself have had thoughts of suicide, as recently as 2008, and it's some scary sh!t. And I'm glad to help out if I can. At least be in there trying to help out.

I suppose the standard pat answer is 'need to see a professional.' Well, I have seen three different so-called mental health professionals during my younger years and I was pretty disappointed in all three of them. I consider myself to have batted 0 for 3, and if a profession bats 0 for 3, I say that profession has some real issues and problems. Now, if someone else finds a professional who is helpful for them, more power to them. But it's not for everyone. It is an individual choice.

In either case, I am happy for Wrong Planet to be one more resource which is available to people.

Are you kidding? I thought everyone did.

...Well, Nietzsche, at least. Voltaire is kind of underappreciated. I loved Candide though...
