Maybe it's an inflamed lymph node.

also some pimples you can't feel until you squeze the blob so much it just bursts out. I had a pimple on my shoulder once like that, but not huge like that.

I will give you the same advice that I gave you two months ago. Please go to the doctor and have her take a look at your back. It looks like a spider bite to me, but even if it is not, you need to get it taken care of.

I been to the doctor one time in 10 years. I cut the tendon in my right index finger.
I was all scheduled for a $5000 operation to fix it when I said no way. I paid $85 for
a blood test and $120 at a minor medical emergency center for one stitch (that
merely closed the cut and did not reattach the tendon).

So yeah no way I would goto the doctor over this. The economics and social anxiety
related to aspergers makes going to the doctor for even major pain and health problems not possible for me. I order my meds online by the way.

I'm going off topic because we have all told en_una_isla enough times and its up to her (could be a spider bite) http://www.amonline.net.au/factsheets/w ... spider.htm
If you are not going to a Dr, an antibacterial cream may help (but could also be useless).

TM1 8O - is your index finger permanently impaired?

A visit to a GP here costs b/w A$0 and A$25 (after government rebates). What would it cost in NYC?

Do your GP's have small "family practices" or is it mostly large medical clinics?

Its the tendon that pulls the finger back by itself. The doctor said I would never be able to point with it. But it turns out I can :) My coworker did a test in which he put
fingers on the back of my left and right hand index fingers as I tried to point them. He said the right was much weaker than the left. I've had phantom mild pain in the finger but other than that I seem to have normal use of it.

I went to a GP last in 1996. He mailed me a letter explaining there was no future in independent GP and was moving to another city to work at a large clinic.

Not sure on current cost. The old cost were reasonable but most doctors were not as
nice as my old doctor.
