Sly- a lot of the Hyperbole post towards the end discuss depression, but this is the most salient, I think:

Aspies are a group of people caught up within themselves. We're hard to get through to. Don't take it personally that you don't receive replies. If I was harsh I could say we're selfish, but it's that we're self centred. And again it sounds like I'm being negative. It's just how we are. Even the most thoughtful of us only pays attention to others as a form of overcompensation because of the stigma not really being interested in people brings us. Unless you say something that's specifically relates to an aspie or their interests you're not going to get their attention a lot of the time. Getting lots of replies requires social people and for that you're in the wrong place.

It's quality over quantity with us anyway. At least when you do get a reply people do make an effort for you.
