i remember being asked on a "date" (more of a hangout) by a girl who was also feeling suicidal over facebook, that was the first time i've ever "gone out" with a girl, ever. and it went very well. that was almost four years ago.

interesting how things seem to just work out when it seems there's nothing left...

Assiming you know each other in any way at all, this girl probably prefers you alive.

Fantastic that she said yes. Never assume all girls are taken: she may be lonely too. Not all girls are surrounded by throngs of male admirers.

Hey Kyle, I'm 54 with HFA. I spent years wishing I were dead, but didn't believe in suicide, so didn't attempt it. I ended up institutionalized for depression once, about 7-8 years ago. My life is so much better now for various reasons, one of which I decided to forgive all the people who bullied and abused me in the past. Don't give up.

You can only forgive them if they stop harming you.

Arguably true but you can also stop them easily enough. Just my opinion but I think HFA calls for forgiveness & showing some teeth in equal measure.

i wonder how different Estonian dating is from american dating?

Dunno how things are in the US, but Estonia is a typical and unremarkable European country.

We don't have any specific dating traditions, so it probably is like in the States.

Wild hook-up culture is a thing in Europe too.

How did your date go?

Even if it didn't, there's plenty of opportunities to have a good one.

No it isn't. He's abusing us with threats of violence in order to elicit an emotional response. He should get real help or shut up. This is a support forum, not a suicide hotline.

You definitely should not date anyone if it's the only thing keeping you from suicide. Because it is very likely to fail as most relationships do early on, and what then?

I'm not abusing anyone with threats of violence.

When I started this thread I thought I was going to succeed at killing myself, so it was intended as a suicide note rather than a threat.

In the meantime I changed my mind and asked the mods to edit the title and first post.
