"Warm fuzzies" is a term going back to the late 60's or early 70's to refer to positive reinforcement and esteem boosting feedback. The antithesis of the "warm fuzzy" is the "cold prickly". Many developmental psychologists in the era believed that attention-starved children acted out in a deliberate attempt to get "cold pricklies" because they weren't getting any "warm fuzzies".

Interesting. I had no idea what the origin of that was. I haven't heard the term "cold pricklies" in years and had forgotten about it.

Grael, you sound like an incredibly strong person to have survived all the stuff that you went through! It sounds like you're trying to sort out what you can in your life, and get on with it. As for writing the long story, I think that it's good for you to get this stuff off your chest, and before a sympathetic audience as well.

Being "too nice" the way that you are is a very common Aspie trait, and it unfortunately makes us vulnerable as easy prey for the predators out there. It's good that you finally started sticking up for yourself.

I think that you will find a lot of people here in WP, especially in The Haven, who are dealing with all kinds of issues, some to the point of wanting to commit suicide. It sounds like you can be a lot of help to these people by reminding them that, no matter how horrible life is, there is always the possibility of making something positive out of it. You are really an inspiration, just to have survived! :D
