Sly why don't you just get a job as a mechanic? It's what you studied and you could make good money to impress the ladies with. Not only that but girls like if it you can help them with their cars.

I used to feel shy but it made things worse. On some of my dates years ago, I acted shy and then after the girl would message me back asking why I didn't like them. I said I did like them. She asked why I didn't show it.

NT girls mistake a lack of affection for dislike. So if you like a girl you have to be affectionate or she will feel insulted. And talk a lot. My most recent exgirlfriend said when she was dating she didn't like it when she was with guys who didn't want to have interesting conversations and who didn't like touching her. She took both as an insult and said "How can I get to know him if he won't talk to me?"

Because as a aspie I can't handle loud noises, people constantly yelling at me, being yelled at to move faster and paid crap for being slow. Having to play fit the 100k car in the whole that's just 2" bigger then the car while backing up at a angle day in and say out. Also unlike most jobs non of your equipment is provided so you need thousands of dollars of tools to be considered. Then you need to know someone in the shop or the boss. It's a horror job for poor aspie. It's not like getting degree and that all you need to start work in a office.

One also will get covered in hot oils, fluids daily. Have to constantly burn themselves because everything is next to a hot engine or exhaust pipe. And if you mess up just s little bit the whole car can become damaged in its your fault and you're sued. You work. On 2-3 cars at s time could you keep track? Did you put oil in the red car or was it the blue car. What about that other red car.

I wish I'd never gotten the degree now. I should have just dropped out. Everyone always like why don't you work as a mechanic. Maybe I should just out the above in my sig so people stop asking over and over making me feel even more like a failure. I should burn my degrees and remove I went to college from my profiles and p just tell people I slacked off for 5 years. Probably look better the a guy who got a degree but doesn't work in thst field .

Also most of my classmates who did work as mechanics changed jobs or went back to school because their job didn't pay enough after buying tools. One struggles because they pay him crap and not at all when its not busy.

Well the girls could be patient and let guy get to know them enough to feel comfortable talking to them. I don't feel shy I am shy. It takes a while for me to open up and trust people. As to touching i dont know when or if I'll ever just touch a woman without asking. Some women say they want a guy to be romantic and touch them but those same women complain about creeps just touching them without asking, 0.o key seems to be if they find you attractive and I have no way of knowing that.

I've come to realize that it's more few women on wp who are upsetting me more then dating sites now.
Their big proponents of the reason I'm single and always will be.

Would your degree help you find a different more quiet job? The degree itself shows you worked hard and yu should be proud of that.

I personally prefer getting to know people first due to my own shyness and Im sure there are girls out there who are the same as you and I sly.

Perhaps when you get to talking to a girl just explain bluntly how you are shy and ot takes time to open up. Some girls like that challenge and it is mysterious.

As fo the attractive thing if a woman actively want to talk to you it's a good sign. There are certain behaviours that signal attraction and since I can't recognise them naturally I've learnt (with the help of others) what certain actions mean.

For example leaning foward toward you means interest and attraction.

Fiddling with hair and tucking it behind the ear is also a sign of attraction.

It's s limited degree. Automotive technology. I don't even remember most of what I learned as I finished classes in 2012. Not thst I remember much then either. It was so much technical information. Tons of specs. Most good paying indoor jons would require some type of business degree or accounting degree.

I use to be but now it's just a source of pain. As everyone is looking down on me and like why isn't he working in that field if he got w degree. I don't get why it's not like I'm the only one. Lots of people don't end up working in their degree field. I wish I'd never gone to college. I did it because people said I had to. Oddly most mechanics working today never went to college.

But that's the thing friendly women which lots are I guess will actively talk to anyone because their friendly.they also hug and touch people a lot. But when asked out they like no I'm not interested in you.

I don't think there's anyway to know unless they flat out say it because every single sign of flirting or interest is also a form of just being friendly.

I've had few women who seemed to be displaying all the signs but we're just being friendly and don't even see me as friend.

I think it's pretty normal to end up in a different field. You could try an internship or something, just having degree of some kind is a great benefit!

Yes but if you put up with that you'd have a job. I know it's difficult but all jobs are difficult. If they were easy they wouldn't pay anyone for it. It's difficult but wouldn't it be worth it to get a girlfriend?

All jobs have a supervisor who yells at you to work faster so how is this job any different. Anyway, if you go to slow, they don't actually fire you, they just yell at you. I know people with office jobs who don't have a degree. Your short term goal should be to save enough money to buy the tools needed.

I don't think you quite understand. The shops don't want a slow aspie any,ore then a slow aspie wants to do that work. They want fat highly skilled independent experienced workers who can fix a car in half the time I should take.

What no they don't. I've never been yelled at in any of my other jobs or called names. A automotive shop is nothing like what you're use to. It's also very dangerous I almost broke my back during the Internship, cars can literally drop on you. And they fire slow people all the time. Customers want their car fixed now!! !! ! Shops want the car in and out assp so they cs. Get another car in. I don't think I've ever worked in another high precision required job thst they want you to go super fast. Speed in precision don't work well together. And mistakes can be fatal(death) you end up cutting corners to save time. Then a tire pops off on the highway, or a transmission comes lose etc.

I'm not made for that kind of work. Just as many people don't have the patience for retail work. Lot of people would find assembly line work horrible. I rather liked it. Just put some music on and assemble or pack the same thing over and over and over and over. 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

Sometimes slow and steady wins the race. Sly just needs to take some small steps to start with

And just as much in no field like me.

Maybe you should look into factory jobs in Oregon.

Also: I think it would be worth your while to take Civil Service Tests--so you could put your name on a list.

There was an Aspie on this forum who did quite well doing paint preparation for cars--a little extra time to do a good looking job is more important that doing it quickly.

Job devoluper tried to. There's not many factories around her and most are automated now. They want people with tons of experience and robotic degrees.

I have no experience in anything but cashiering and even then 2 years of that wasn't considered enough to get s cashier job.

Also factory jobs dot pay much anymore either, at most $15 a hour.

Can you think of any jobs that require no experience , no degree, no connections, and pay over $22 and hour s d let people work 25 hours a week?

We do have s lot of empty factories though. Sony has a few empty ones in our area lol. Most those jobs are in China now.

You can take a test to be an office clerk. This doesn't require a college degree. Many Aspies are office clerks, and work in Civil Service. I am one of them.

Look up the State of Oregon employment website. Or the City of Eugene. Or maybe even your county.
