You and Isabella have a deep understanding and insights on the subject - I always appreciate your posts, but they make me sad too, because I have a pretty good idea how such depth of knowledge is gained.

Edit: 8O I'm so sorry to hear about that Isabella, it's beyond revolting.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's hard for me to say what I endured without being too graphic, or triggering flashbacks for other people who've experienced psychopathic crime.

Solidarity for everyone who is hurting.

Our wounds are certainly not a gift!

Take the matter as you find it: ask no questions, utter no remonstrances; it is your best wisdom. You expected bread and you have got a stone: break your teeth on it, and don't shriek because the nerves are martyrised; do not doubt that your mental stomach - if you have such a thing - is strong as an ostrich's; the stone will digest. You held out your hand for an egg, but fate put into it a scorpion. Show no consternation; close your fingers firmly upon the gift; let it sting through your palm. Never mind; in time, after your hand and arm have swelled and quivered long with torture, the squeezed scorpion will die, and you will have learned the great lesson of how to endure without a sob.

For the whole remnant of your life, if you survive the test—some, it is said, die under it—you will be stronger, wiser, less sensitive. This you are not aware of, perhaps, at the time, and so cannot borrow courage of that hope. Nature, however, as has been intimated, is an excellent friend in such cases, sealing the lips, interdicting utterance, commanding a placid dissimulation—a dissimulation often wearing an easy and gay mien at first, settling down to sorrow and paleness in time, then passing away, and leaving a convenient stoicism, not the less fortifying because it is half-bitter.

Charlotte Brontë, Shirley, 1849

Magnificent. The depth of understanding, still new on the 4th reading.
And yet. Why endure without a sob?
I did hope that the Women's Movement and karate lessons might have changed that.

LMAO :P

We seriously need a Wounded Wrong Planetarian Commune!
We can live together and take turns holding the scorpion, while someone else shovels our snow and washes up.

I think it's victim blaming. I was born with a lot of disabilities & I had to hear more than a few times from my parents about how different disabled people could do all these great things because or inspite of their disability. Thing is that I can NOT do those great things because I have other conditions that limit me. I really feel like I'm being blamed like I'm not trying when I'm doing the best I can.

The Bronte sisters - any one of them - had a lot of experience with suffering. It is really depressing to read their life story (so don't do it).

its not like my 13 years old depression is going to get badder xD and when a dip happens, i have contengency measures ^^
(i mean, i am so used to it, and to dealing with it, i am somewhat confident of being able to maintain by now)
also if that is found depressing, i guess i am making a right choice to withhold details of my own story ^^

Life keeps wounding me psychologically to the point that I don't think I can survive without all the monsters in my life.
